Sometimes you just want a no-nonsense take on a classic style, and Oma nails it across the board.
The look and smell aren't going to indicate anything special, but the taste and mouth feel are good enough to transport you to a Bavarian beer hall. It's simple, clean, and flawless. Four of these will disappear real fast.

Clear wedding band gold with a white foam head of moderate height that otherwise doesn't retain long.
Decidedly, and fittingly, less better than the Opa I enjoyed yesterday, while still well balanced, this starts with a fresh baked cornbread aroma while the palate is more vibrant and tangy of almost floral white grape, pear and even apricot amidst the finely subtle malt.
The medium-light body is slick but again tingly and zippy in the middle, finishing semi-dry. It does thin out a lot as the carbonation releases.

Pours a translucent straw with two fingers of snow white foam. Aroma is bready, crackery, wafery malts, grass and herbal hops and a swell of clove. It's a dry cracker of a nose, short and sweet. Flavor profile is crackery, wafery, and bready malts. Some caramel at the back. Light grass and herbal hops mingle with spicy hops for a zesty twist of hops. Dry finish. Mouth feel is crisp with medium-thin thickness. Overall, a crispy lager that's got a playful attitude.

L: clear amber/yellow with creamy white head.
S: bready. Floral. Sweet. Corn.
T: French bready. Refreshing light citrusy/grassy hop presence.
F: appropriate to style. Crisp. No alcohol presence.
O: light and refreshing. Seems appropriate to style. I haven’t had Hamms in years, but it reminds of a smooth AAL in some ways.

poured from a 16oz can into a nonic pint glass. pours a clear gold with a thick white head and plenty of carbonation bubbles. nose is floral hops with that clean lager yeast aroma. also has a touch bread from the malts but it’s more dominated by floral hops. taste follows with a crisp, clean, finish. this is much more focused on the hops than the malts but it’s a great balance of the two. so refreshing and crisp. bubbly, full mouthfeel. wonderful take on the Helles style.
