473 mL can from TBS. Trying to grab a piece of that sweet, sweet James Ready demographic, eh Labatt? Served ice cold, like God intended.

Pours a clear straw-yellow colour, capped off with nearly one finger of dense, sparkling white-coloured head. It lasts a few minutes before giving up the ghost, leaving a soapy film behind on the surface, in addition to a thin collar. It looks like what it's supposed to, I guess - the nose, on the other hand, is hard to describe, because it doesn't really smell like much of anything. I get a faint whiff of that 'generic adjunct lager' aroma - corn husk, pale malt, and that's about it. On the bright side, that makes it pretty inoffensive.

My feelings concerning the taste are similar - it's not exactly tasty, but it's also not a chore to drink. Fans of Blue will adjust to this one's grainy, corny flavour profile quite quickly. Pale malts and some corny, weakly syrupy sweetness accurately describe most of it, though it ends with a wisp of grassiness, followed by a saccharine adjunct note that includes a hint of ethanol. Light-bodied, with moderate carbonation levels that result in a mostly crisp, prickly mouthfeel. This isn't all that bad for what it is, and I find it to be more drinkable/less unappealing than the majority of "ice" beers that I have tried over the years.

Final Grade: 2.94, an unremarkable C grade. Unsurprisingly, Labatt Blue Ice pretty much tastes like Labatt Blue, except with a bit more alcohol. If that sounds appealing to you, then by all means - have at 'er! There's no reason not to, especially when a tallboy of this is the exact same price as regular Blue. I was going into this review expecting it to be terrible, but in all honesty it's mostly just mediocre. As far as ice beer and other 5.5% macro fare goes, you could do much worse than this. Works well as a substitute for its lighter brother, as they're both shrug-worthy, passable value-brand lagers with few differences between them.
