12 ounce bottle into lager glass, bottled on 1/5/2018. Pours crystal clear medium golden yellow color with a 1 finger dense and rocky white head with awesome retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of cracker, corn, white bread, light biscuit dough, and mild herbal/grassy/peppery earthiness. A touch of fruity aromas, but not overwhelming. Nice and pleasant aromas with pale malt/corn and mild earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of cracker, corn, white bread, light biscuit dough, and mild herbal/grassy/peppery earthiness. Light herbal, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of cracker, corn, white bread, light biscuit dough, and herbal/grassy/peppery earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice robustness of pale malt/corn and light earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and zero cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Moderately crisp/clean finishing. Perfectly clean on lager flavors, with zero fruity notes present. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and light body; with a very smooth and fairly bready/grainy/sticky balanced mouthfeel that is good. A bit thin, but not watery. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 4%. Overall this is a good extra light pale lager. All around good robustness of pale malt/corn and light earthy hop flavors; very smooth, crisp, clean, and refreshing to drink. Really impressive considering the style, not too watered down. Very clean malt/grain flavors, and nice earthy hop presence for the style. Not overdone on adjuncts. A nicely enjoyable offering, and well made style example.

For those not in the know, today (M, 10 Oct 2016) is Canadian Thanksgiving Day! That being the case, I will only be drinking and reviewing beers from our neighbors to the north today. I reluctantly begin with a bottle, but it will soon be CANadian Thanksgiving Day, I assure you!

It was a screw-top cap, so I did not even have the pleasure of a Pop! Smyert botylok! A decent pour netted two fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, bone-white head with decent retention. Color was Yellow-Gold (SRM = 4 - 5) with NE-quality clarity, prompting an impromptu visit from The Gelt Gang of Midas, Mammon & Croesus. Nose was an unfortunate reminder of what corn imparts as an adjunct in beer - a silage-like smell that is never enticing. Ugh. Mouthfeel was thin, kind of watery. The taste had the usual corn/silage sharpness & I wonder how we drank all of those AALs without complaint for so many years. Some of the big boys have begun marketing pre-Pro Lagers and the difference is so marked that I sometimes weep for what we Americans allowed during Prohibition. Ugh. Finish was semi-dry, but the sharpness of the corn adjuncts was more than I really care for. I will be glad to put this one behind me.
