This is good enough and barely more. It initially has a great flavour, but balances out strangely. Interesting flavours for sure; however it is nothing special and I would not opt for this over most domestic ciders or flavoured beers.

Tallboy can from TBS; dated Mar 9 2017 and brewed in London, ON. This appears to be isolated to the Canadian market for the time being. Served ice cold and reviewed on my phone.

Pours pale straw yellow in colour, with a cloudy complexion and one finger of foamy fountain soda head. It lasts about 60 seconds, fizzling off continuously until only a thin, frothy collar and a mat of filmy bubbles remain. No lace; looks more juice than beer. The aroma is mostly sour grapefruit, like those gummy grapefruit slices - quite tart and sugary.

Not much to be said about this one's flavour. Its just grapefruit juice, grape sugar and a light, short-lived lemonade sweetness at the finish. Light and refreshing, though I find the grapefruit flavour to be too subdued overall - too much sweet, not enough sour. Thin and watery, even by radler standards, but I suppose it's still getting the job done well enough. Crisp and easy to gulp; an acceptable thirst quencher for the summer months.

Final Grade: 3.41, a B-. Shock Top's Citrus Radler ain't great, but its good enough. There are definitely a few radlers in Ontario that are much worse, but this one is still a few steps behind Stiegl's (the pinnacle of this pseudo-style, IMO). A serviceable option; put a few of these in your golf bag or backpack and enjoy an afternoon in the sun.
