Beautiful looking brew with a tall mocha-tan colored head that sticks around. Enormous nose of fudge, milk chocolate with a hint of vanilla, roastiness and suggestions of coffee bean, mocha. Taste follows the nose, with a wave of bitter semi sweet dark chcolate, then some vanilla and chocolate pudding goodness, followed by a strong and sharp finish of roasty bitterness that cuts straight through the palate - a little too abrasive for me. The 12% abv is apparent on this finish but not overly hot. Mouthfeel is super chewy, creamy, and coating. I'm impressed with the execution of this brew. Just wish it had less of a sharp bitterness on the finish!

A nice pour at "When Pigs Fly" in Kittery, Maine. Lush, delicious and quaffable. At 12% abv how can this be? I forced myself to sip and it wasn't easy. But I'm glad I did. This big beautiful stout has depth of character and a wonderful lingering sweet finish. To be savored again and again. Among the best.

look: Gonna go with Fudgy chocolate pudding. Nearly opaque. Huge head for an imp stout, medium tan and creamy.
smell: Rich chocolate pudding! Some light stout roastiness but pudding is the star.
taste: much like the nose though leaning more stout like. The sweetness cut with a little roasty bitterness in the finish.
Mission accomplished.

Bottled on 7/3/18

Pours a deep black with a slight but soft tan head that coats the glass in nicely spattered blotches of sticky lacing.

Aroma is bright but balanced and deeply confectionery. I'm getting lightly roasty malts in harmony with smooth baker's chocolate, accompanied by light vanilla, cherry, and toasted wood. Never cloying on the nose, and a great balance between roasty and sweet.

Well damn, I suppose it should be expected given the brew's name, but this really does taste alot like pudding. Confectionery sugar, milk chocolate, vanilla bean, and lactose sugar are all in sync for a flavor that's both distinct but never too over-the-top. Palatable take on a pastry stout.

Mouthfeel is slick and well-carbed, while showing a slight stickiness in the finish. There's absolutely no hint of the beer's 12% ABV whatsoever.

An interesting and ultimately tolerable take on a style that could have definitely verged into a territory too sweet for my liking. Unique in that it rides a fine line while maintaining a solid level of structure and balance. Not for all occasions, but it's a solid, if not quirky, stout.

Pours dark brown and moderately thick, with two fingers of head threatening to overflow the teku glass. Fudge on the nose and tongue, a good semblance of a chocolate pudding in a glass. In that respect, they've nailed the concept. Unfortunately, the finish is quite rough for me, with a dry bitterness and chalky flavor that really throws me.

12oz bottle, served in a tulip glass. Dark black body, thick and viscous, two and half finger offwhite head. Long retention, a bit too much head for a stout, super frothy lacing. Kind of all wrong for a stout, but I'll play along. Smell is sweet chocolate pudding. It's literally tasting like a spiked chocolate pudding. Sweet graham cracker goes along with sweet sugary chocolate. It's not complex, but hey it's interesting and a different kind of beer than most. Flavour just becomes too sweet, as you would expect. Sugar, caramel, chocolate, graham cracker. It's just so damn sweet. Slight earthy finish. Slightly sticky body which is otherwise medium full bodied, good carbonation, silky smooth. Overall, an interesting take on the pastry stout genre, but ultimately, it gets to be too sweet.
