From a 16 oz. can into a PAA whiskey glass, this beer pours out very dark brown, not black. I can see highlights throughout without even holding it to the light. When held to the light, it only enhances those highlights. It wanted to form a peanut butter fudge colored crown, but the bubbles would dissipate almost as fast as they would form.

The nose brings a huge chocolate presence; fudge, brownies and a ton of Oreos. Vanilla mixes the whole way through; vanilla bean, vanilla creme. It smells exactly like what they were going for.

The taste is bringing a more roasty or charred chocolate while still delivering on a lingering sweetness. Still detect fudge, brownies and Oreos. It’s doughy, like you were making a homemade Oreo with just chocolate cookies and vanilla creme.

It has more roast bite than alcohol bite, but the way they both mix I think it makes it seem like the alcohol is coming through more than it is. Sweetness is there the whole way through, syrupy. A little on the thin side of the body for a stout of this nature.

Overall, this was a fun beer to try. It definitely achieved the true cookies and cream or Oreo aspect more than others that I have tried did.

look: dark brown with cola highlights. Sparse tan head that almost completely dissipates.
smell: As advertised, cookies and cream. Spot on rich creamy chocolates.
taste: Much like the nose though not as pronounced, slight charred notes in the finish.

This one pours and oily and inky looking dark black color, with a small head, and not much lacing.

This smells like liquified Oreos, brownie batter, vanilla cream, slight roast, molasses, and espresso.

Breaking news, red alert - this tastes like cookies and cream. Most of the Oreo stouts I've tried kind of just taste like generically chocolate candy. This one actually does nail that fake-but-delicious vanilla cream filling, and it's got a nice and not too sweet Oreo cookie flavor. As the beer warms, it does get sweeter, and sits heavier on the palate. This is good to have a smaller amount of.

This is thick, chewy, and just slightly syrupy - especially as it warms a bit. It's not very boozy at all.

This is enjoyable in an Augustus Gloop sort of way. Nothing here to actually show that it's beer, but I guess that's ok.

From fresh can dated 8/23/19. Nice head retention. Aroma is unforgettable, powerful and so tempting. Very sweet with dry finish. Liquid Oreo Cookies forward and center. An Oreo Cookie fans heaven come true!

2019 vintage; drank 9/21/19 @ Elastic Arts.

They aren't joking with the name of this beer...it tasted like a cookies & cream milkshake with some chocolate. A bit thin, perhaps, but enjoyable...but only if you have a sweet tooth.

Decent head production from a careful pour; fair retention at best, with little to no lacing. Edges of the body are light and cola-colored.

Aroma is absolutely massive. Chocolate and bananas waft up during the pour; sitting in the glass, it legitimately smells like cookies and cream ice cream. Chocolate, sugar, dough, brown sugar, cinnamon, molasses, banana, dates, nutmeg. It may smell like a gimmick, but if all gimmicks smelled this good, no one would complain about them ever again.

Flavor follows to the palate, with thick, rich, doughy, chocolate tones, along with a surprisingly noticeable booze - yes, the brew is 12% ABV, but brewers of massive, modern flavored stouts often find ways to hide the bite. Here, they're not hiding that this beer is a beast. Waves of roast, char, and coffee remind you that you don't get to 12% by adding cookies and chocolate; you get there with a solid malt base.

Other tones include vanilla, cinnamon, mint, nuts, and banana - but this is really all about the cookies-and-cream flavor, and it's amazing.

At first, the sting and the booze almost makes this brew come across a little watery and lighter than expected, but it's still full bodied, thick, and sticky.

16 ounce can into snifter, canned on 8/23/2019. Pours opaque dark brown/black color with a small fairly dense tan head with solid retention, that reduces to a minimal spotty lace cap that lingers. Minimal spotty lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, vanilla frosting, cream, oreo cookies, fudge, brownie batter, roasted nuts, toasted biscuit, and dark bread/crust; with light notes of dark fruit, toffee, smoke, char, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. Minimal booze in the aromas as it warms. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malts, vanilla, lactose, flavorings, and light fruity yeast/earthy hop notes; with big strength. Taste of huge milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, vanilla frosting, cream, oreo cookies, fudge, brownie batter, roasted nuts, toasted biscuit, and dark bread/crust; with light notes of dark fruit, toffee, smoke, char, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. Very mild herbal, grassy, peppery, roast, charred bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, vanilla frosting, cream, oreo cookies, fudge, brownie batter, roasted nuts, toasted biscuit, dark bread/crust; light dark fruit, toffee, smoke, char, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Amazing complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts, vanilla, lactose, flavorings, and light fruity yeast/earthy hop flavors; with a nice roast/hop bitter/sweet balance, and no cloying sweetness after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering hop/roast bitterness. Light-medium carbonation and very full body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/velvety/bready, and lightly slick/sticky/chalky mouthfeel that is fantastic. Minimal warming alcohol for 12%. Overall this is an amazing flavored imperial stout! All around incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts, vanilla, lactose, flavorings, and light fruity yeast/earthy hop flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to drink for the ABV, with the mildly bitter/drying finish; amazingly silky/soft feel for the ABV. Perfectly balanced super rich malts, lactose, and flavorings. Not overly sweet/heavy from lingering dryness. A highly enjoyable offering, and top tier dessert stout style example as expected of both breweries.

Lighter black with brown foam. Smell has the rich dark cocoa, with vanilla and malt, all of which are laced with sugar, yay oreos! The taste however is just too sweet, cloying, especially as it warms. Still a good oreo stout with the dutch processed dark cocoa being the very rich, but there are better oreo stouts out there. Feel is cloyingly sweet, sugary, and heavy. Would have again, but need to be in the right mood
