COCONUT PORTER
Do you like the coconut Girl Scout cookie? And do you like coffee? If your answer is yes to both, then this is your beer. Plutonium 239 might be our most memorable beer. Could be the name, but we’re betting it’s the unique flavors of the beer.
At first sniff, you will immediately detect coconut, chocolate, and a wonderful roast. Like all good Porters, the carbonation is low and the body is medium.

Not nearly as sweet as I feared, actually very dark and creamy. A little bit of coffee and just a hint of coconut in the aftertaste.

L: Pours black as night with a two finger head with great retention.
S: Smells rich of sweet malts, toasty, coconut (but not overbearing), lactose, surprisingly, buttery.
T: Follows the nose, not a real coconut presence, mainly toasted malts & cocoa.
F: Low carbonation, full-bodied, surprisngly smooth.
O: For a porter, damn good

Poured into a pint glass. Thick, brown tinted head that lingers with noticeable lacing. Deep black color in the glass. Feel is lighter and creamier than expected but still had strong presence of chocolate and coffee with background hints of coconut. Finished with coconut and a slightly bitter coffee taste. Very easy drinking and solid porter to keep coming back to.

Pours a pitch black color with a thick brown foamy head. Head retention is excellent as is lacing. I get more chocolate than coconut in the aroma but there is more coconut in the taste. Nice roast all the way through. It is a little lighter bodied than I like, but it is a porter and not a stout. Mild to medium carbonation.
