Although it's not totally over the top, the sum of its parts exceeds the whole. There's a lovely hops flavor but it's not injected directly into your taste buds. A solid malt backbone stands out by not standing out, and adding complementary balance without taking over. Overall it's pretty damn nice. Could easily be a daily go to.

“Now I become Death, the destroyer of worlds.” So yeah… here we are with a brewery about the atomic bomb and stuff.
Moving along…
I don’t think the beer needs Lithium - it is not confused. It’s a Hazy, that’s for sure. But it also isn’t a ‘hit you over the head’ Hazy like a lot of average (or even bad) ones are. It just has a lil more to it then, well, haze.
Overall, I definitely wouldn’t ask Double Half-Life to meet me under the walnut tree after school. But I’d give it a ‘poke’ on face book (tee-hee).

Best workhorse/gettable hazy brewed in DFW (with all apologies to Celestial). Soft, pillowy, restrained hops, lemon, pineapple, and faint coconut. Delicious in every way, and your mom will like that it’s only 8%.

My go to IPA. Fun to drink when cooking, once you have three down, best be ready to eat!

Recently had the Half-Life at a restaurant and checked my review. Rated well and I notice the Double Half-Life was rated even higher so got some from the local grocery store, canned 9/14/2023 and here we are. Definitely more tasty than the Half-Life but similar in appearance and aroma. I'll no doubt be checking dates in the future beer hunts. A fine DIPA for a Hazy.

I can't say enough about this one. My go-to hazy/east coast IPA and a cut above the regular half-life.
Look - not that I care that much but holding this up, what a color, cloudy buy yet bright.
Smell - the bouquet is great - if it were any more fragrant, I'd go 5 because it's got a great nose
Taste - wow, what a balance, which matters so much, just great balance
Feel - slightly fluffly, subtly fizzy, just below that Belgian cloughy (I don't know how else to describe it)
Overall - top notch double hazy IPA, fantastic consistency - I've bought at least 20 six packs in various stores and quality very stable, taste very stable. Highly recommend.

Pours a standard hazy golden with a fluffy white head. It smells like pine and canned Mandarin oranges to me with hints of tropical fruit underneath it all. The taste follows the nose, but is heavy on the citrus compared to everything else with a satisfying semi bitter piney finish. It's slightly fizzier than expected, but it makes this one particularly refreshing although I wouldn't say it makes it easier to drink. Overall worth a try when you can find it.

L: Pours a cloudy orange color with a somewhat thin off-white head.
S: Smells rich of citrus fruits, mainly orange & lemon zest. Pine resin, fair amount of malts.
T: Follows the nose, I wish it had more of a malt backbone to pair with the heavy amount of citrus.
F: Moderate carbonation, medium-bodied, smooth silky, creamy.
O: Not disappointed by this beer, not amazed either, would definitely buy again.
