Poured from a corked 750 ml bottle that looked very impressive. It was a limited edition 2022 vintage bottle, numbered 278 of 400 and labeled a "Triple IPA".
L - Golden color, totally opaque with haziness. No head at all, and oily sheen on surface, which gives a clue that the head may have been impeded by huge amounts of hops.
S - Strongly fruity, dank hops nose with herbal note underneath. Sweetbread malt note. Very nice aromatics perked me up after the disappointing appearance.
T - Sharp hops flavors are a blend of pine and tangerine, with a more bitter note in finish similar to orange peel pith. Brown sugar and bready malt give sweetness. Delicious.
F - Thick, viscous body coats the mouth. Huge hops bitterness is lightened by malt sweetness. Light carbonation gives just a bit of effervescence. Strong alcohol presence is slightly boozy.
O - A huge, oily, dank monster. A bit flawed by under-carbonation and lack of head, but an interesting beer pushing the limits of IPA even farther.
