This beer starts off with a huge nose of Pineapple, coconut and papaya. The smoothie like body is the first thing you notice as it tumbles onto the palate followed by notes of melons and navel oranges. This finish is a perfect mélange of fruit nectar character and subtle bitterness that balance the beer as a whole.

POUR: From a can into a nonic pint. APPEARANCE: As advertised. Hazy and dark orange in color. Nice even white head. Starts out large and reduces over time. Lots of glass lacing present. No detectable effervescence. AROMA: Dank citrus. Lots of orange flavors but not overpowering. Pleasant. Some subtle earthy qualities. Tropical flowers. Resin. TASTE: Follows the nose in the dank and citrus department. Earthy and has a bit of thick resin. AFTERTASTE: Medium mouthfeel. Dank and resiny citrus through to the back end. Somewhat of a burn. NOTES: Solid brew. I think this would be killer at the brewery. Dank and citrus for days. REVIEW/ RATING: Excellent/ 5 out of 5.

16oz can served in a nonic glass. Canned 6/08/2020

Look- Hazy golden amber color. Solid off-white head with great retention, ample lacing. Light carbonation streams visible.

Smell- Tropical fruit (pineapple, papaya and passionfruit), orange and lemon, apricot and melon, light strawberry, some grainy malt, faint pine and black tea, other floral/herbal notes.

Taste- Similar to the aroma. Tropical fruit, apricot, citrus, melon and strawberry, grainy malt.

Feel- Medium bodied, somewhat sweet and sticky up front with a lightly bitter finish. Medium carbonation on the tongue.

O- Very solid overall, Matchless is known for their hop bombs and this one doesn't disappoint. I plan on grabbing a few more before it disappears for the season.

L: Straw yellow in color. Unfiltered and hazy appearance, but is not as hazy as other offerings that we are becoming accustomed to today. Head stacked up to at least 2 & 1/2 fingers of a loosely packed stark white cap, which settled quickly. Lacing is in generous proportions, coating the edge of the glass.
S: Aromas of citrus, melon, honey, black pepper, and defined earthy/floral aspects.
T: Citrus, melon & stonefruit comprise the fruit complexity. The beer has a herbal and floral complexity that adds to the fruit base. Grassy and slightly bitter finish with sweet lingering aftertaste.
F: Light in body, light to medium in weight. Moderate carbonation.
O: An enjoyable beer. Nothing to write home about, but nothing wrong with it at the same time. I am grateful to have tried. Cheers!

Poured from a 16 ounce can into a IPA glass.

Look- Straw, hazy, no visible sediment, above average head retention and lacing.
Smell- Citrus, melon, musty/earthy.
Taste- Melon, orange, citrus, slightly boozy finish, maybe to ambitious on creating a complex flavor.
Feel- Thin to medium body, above average carbonation, slightly astringent finish.

Compared to northeast NEIPA, it is quite basic. Nothing special. Overhyped. Not sure if I had an old can, can’t tell cause they don’t put the date on their cans. Going for a juice bomb? This sits at a B they need to spend more time on this one I think.

Look: One finger white head, hazy orange body.

Smell: See below.

Taste: Cantaloupe, honeydew, mild orange, mild resin.

Feel: Medium-light body and carbonation. Super soft and fluffy. Extremely mild hop bitterness, interesting for a DIPA.

Poured into a Pint Defiance tulip. The body is a hazy orange with a two finger white head. Aromas consist of pineapple, coconut, cantaloupe, and mild tropical flowers. Flavors are the same, but there is resin as well. The feel is medium bodied with high carbonation, and is quite smooth. The ABV is barely noticeable.
