Drank from a 1 pint can purchased at New Park Brewing, West Hartford, CT
Canned on 3/27/19
Served in a teku

Big thanks to my sister Vanessa for grabbing my wife and I a few cans of this.

The cloudy, dark magenta body was topped by a flimsy, light pink film that quickly dissolved. A thin collar encircled the liquid. Spotty droplets of lacing stuck along the glass.

Raspberry notes dominated in the aroma. Super jammy and sweet. Raspberry purée came to mind. Hint of lacto sourness. So simple but so good.

The flavor profile was also incredibly raspberry forward. Again, really jammy and juicy. Lacto notes were again noticeable and perhaps a bit punchier here. Some lemony tartness came through in the center. Bit of raspberry seed-like bitterness on the back end and the finish. Although the can stated that this beer was brewed with Mosaic hops, I picked up absolutely no hops whatsoever.

The mouthfeel was solid but somewhat nondescript. Medium bodied for the style. Creamy, soft and smooth. The liquid contained a fine, moderate effervescence.

New Park Brewing’s Blender Series beers are all fantastic, and this Raspberry variant was one of my favorites to date. The raspberry notes were definitely front and center, and they showcased a fantastic balance of both jammy sweetness and crisp tartness. Few breweries do fruited kettle sours better than these guys.

L - deep magenta, fringing on purple. Precious gem territory. Looks like raspberry puree with a pinkish white frothy head.

S - raspberries! Among other tart mixed berries. Hints of blueberry, blackberry, and unripe strawberry. Does what it says on the tin.

T - raspberries! Tart, tangy, and true to form, down to the little seeds and fuzzy hairs. Plain yogurt, barnyard funk, and jammy deliciousness. Finish is bready and neutral.

F - thick and creamy. Drinks like a raspberry yogurt cup.

O - raspberries, raspberries, raspberries. Bursting with flavor with just the right amount of tart. Some raspberry sours can go overboard with the tartness, but this strikes a lovely balance between drinkability, refreshment, and pungency.

Pours a cloudy deep red, minimal head. Big tart raspberry aroma. Delicious tangy raspberry flavor, nice light sourness to it. Carbonation is light and it has a creamy mouthfeel. Overall this is an excellent beer, would love to drink this again.

This beer pours a dark red almost like a raspberry smoothie (I'm guessing that's the point of the name). It pours with a half inch think foam that dissipates to a couple centimeters and stays throughout most of the beer leaving spotty lacing along the side of the glass. It looks beautiful actually. It smells of fresh raspberries a little funk (not like the dirty laundry funk that some sours have) and a little fruit smoothie sweetness. The taste is phenomenal it has that crisp mouth puckering sour that a Berliner should have along with some fresh raspberry. I love how it tastes so real I've had some raspberry Berliners that taste like it has some artificial flavoring in it. But not this one! It feels like a lighter smoothie going down it's awesome. I wish I could drink this every day. If you like Berliners and you're tired of the artificially flavored ones go grab a growler of this stuff you won't regret it!
