750 ml bottle into chalice, no bottle dating. Pours slightly hazy deep ruby red color with a 1 finger fairly dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Slight spotty lacing clings on the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the lace. Aromas of big raisin, fig, pear, apple, grape, molasses, toffee, candi sugar, toast, light chocolate, herbal, floral, clove, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Nice aromas with good balance and complexity of malt/candi sugar and fruit/spicy yeast notes with good strength. A bit musty. Taste of raisin, fig, plum, pear, apple, molasses, caramel, toffee, candi sugar, toast, light chocolate, clove, pepper, herbal, and yeast earthiness. Lingering notes of raisin, fig, plum, pear, apple, caramel, molasses, toffee, candi sugar, toast, light chocolate, herbal, pepper, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice balance, robustness, and complexity of malt/candi sugar and fruity/spicy yeast flavors; with a very nice malt/yeast flavor balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a moderately slick, smooth, and lightly prickly mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with zero warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very good dubbel style. Good balance, robustness, and complexity of malt sweetness and fruity/spicy yeast flavors; and very smooth to sip on for the ABV. A nicely enjoyable offering.

The beer has a respectable nut-brown color, and a handsome fluffy tan head. Its aroma is not strong, but seems about right. The flavor here is perhaps a bit too subtle for a dubbel (in keeping, arguably, with its restrained ABV), but it is nonetheless distinctive. The mild caramelization of toasted white bread comes to mind, with a hint of cinnamon roll. Even though it doesn’t knock your socks off, it tastes good. Mouthfeel hits the mark: easygoing but refreshing. Not one of this distinguished genre’s heavy hitters, but perfectly OK, and worth a try if it happens to be at hand.

De Lidl. En copa Grimbergen. Estudiando y jugando a Fortnite. Dubbel más tostada de lo habitual sin que ello impida disfrutarla.

Bottle conditioned. 7.4% ABV. Clear rich chestnut in colour. Thin, light tan, dense head.
Smells of caramel, light spicy yeast, dried stoned fruit. Toffee present.
Tastes like a muted representation of the smell. Wort like bitterness to finish.
Softening carbonation. Medium to full bodied.
Improved towards the end.

For being a dubbel I found this beer a little too simple. I was able to appreciate only a very sweet caramel flavour and am sorry to say that after a few minutes after I drank it i can't remember any particular smell. Nice colour and foam, refreshing, I could buy again if I will have the opportunity but it is nothing special

My few 33cl bought in 2021 at Lidl Italy declare an abv of 7,2% and the label is different than this one (just check the official website).
I guess they might have changed the recipe as well.

Dense foam disappearing in a couple of minutes. Lightly carbonated. Thick amber color (the brewery says dark brown).
No noticeable smell except for a smoky aroma.

Tastes like smoky wood, toasted cereals, buttery biscuits, medium bodied and smooth not sweet.
Don't even perceive the abv served at 4°C (lower than the suggested 8°C).

Very good.

A great refreshing dubbel whic, as a bonus, is not sweet as most Belgian beers!
