-Golden-orange look and very opaque. Big foam head, the foam isn't very dense and leaves a trace of fine foam in the vase.
-Not a huge smell but it reminds a little bit to the smell of Hefeweizen.
-Carbonation can be felt, hints of alcohol.
-The taste is ver good.
Overall a very good beer.

Gold color with orange reflections, slightly hazy. Head white, made of fine bubbles, creamy in consistency, sizable, but not for long remains on the surface of beer.
Aroma: yeast, wine, slightly floral, slightly sour.
The taste very clearly noticeable white grapes, yeast, again delicate floral note and characteristic of Belgium. Each sip reminds me of wine, maybe even champagne.
Gentian properly shortage, high saturation characteristic of sparkling wines. Alcohol although nice warms up the esophagus, it is perfectly stowed away.

Pours golden with a bit white head and lacing sticking all over the glass. Pleasantly light, fruity nose. Taste has a grainy malty sweetness with some of the same fruit as on the nose, but not overly sweet or copying like some of the Augustijn products. Definitely the best of the Augustijn labeled products.

330 mL bottle from a sampler pack picked up at the LCBO a few months back; best before May 7 2016. Served at cellar temperature.

Pours a hazy, effervescent golden-yellow colour, generating about one inch of puffy, eggshell-white froth at the surface. The head recedes, slowly but surely, over the course of the next ten minutes or so; left behind in its wake is a modest cap and a generous, foamy collar. The aroma is fairly typical of the style - grainy, bready malts, with some honey sweetness, red apple, apricot and pear, with plenty of yeastiness. Candi sugar and clove are also noticeable, with a hint of grassy, floral hops.

Pleasant flavour, with nothing out of the ordinary worth mentioning. The malt profile is grainy and sweet, with a wide range of orchard fruit flavour coming to the fore - red apple, apricot and pear, with faint suggestions of banana, citrus and sultana raisin. It becomes yeastier and spicier toward the finish, as notes of clove, white pepper and grassy dryness successfully cut through the sweetness of the candi sugar and malt profile. Off-dry aftertaste, with the 9% abv hovering barely on the fringe of detectability. Medium-bodied, with assertive carbonation and a soft, smooth, somewhat prickly feel on the palate. It's much easier to knock back than beers of this strength tend to be.

Final Grade: 4.02, an A-. Augustijn Grand Cru falls under one of my favourite style categories - and while I wouldn't say that this BSPA manages to top any of my first choices in this grouping, it's still a very well-made and exceptionally quaffable Belgian pale. Great stuff; I'd pick this up again, even in its sampler pack format - and for the record, the other five beers are worth checking out, too. Not a world-beater, but beers don't necessarily need to be world class to be completely satisfying.

Golden straw colour. Three inches of fine white head. Huge flume of carbonation up the center of the glass. Good lacing.

Sweet pastry aroma. Fruity ... pear.

Nip of hop bitterness at the front end. Very fruity .. green apple, pear and mango. Definit sweetness. No alcohol taste. Sweet, sour and bitter all at the same time. Nice brassy hops bitter aftertaste.

Well carbonated. Soft full feel. Slightly unpleasant tangy feel.

A wonderful Belgian ale. Complex but yet very accessible.
