12oz bottle poured into a Sam Adams PP. Mildly hazy darker gold with a creamy off-white head. Bready sweet with a creamy impression of coffee. Notes of caramel, toffee, and honey toast as well. Smooth and malty sweet body, in which the coffee does little to offset the sweetness with bitterness, this is creamy and almost syrupy malt and bread-forward brew.

Not bad, right off the bat the coffee is present. You pop the top and get that coffee aroma you would normally get with a coffee flavored stout or porter but the upside to this is that its a lot lighter beer and with it being a blonde, if you're like me, you can drink 4 or 5 in a row where after 1 or 2 stouts im ready to switch over to something light. The carbonation is a medium to medium high, not harsh but slightly less smooth than i would prefer for a coffee beer. But other than that im a fan and would recommend trying this one.

Has a nice coffee flavor through it. Always a good mix, this beer and coffee thing. Next up, it's pretzels that dip like donuts.

Pours a clear golden color. There's a 2 finger slightly off white head. There's pretty good retention, and some nice lacing on the glass.
The nose is minimal.
Taste - a nice mellow coffee flavor that hits on the front. On the back I get a malty biscuit sweetness. A hint of honey.
Light bodied, as expected.
Tasty, and easy to drink. I like it.

Bottle. Not a bad blue moon variant. Tastes like a coffee kolsch or cream ale. Easy drinking an really nice coffee flavor. Simple, but cheap and crushable.

Pours a clear golden color with a one-finger foamy white head that reduces to a ring

S- faint generic coffee bean up front, light undertones of wheat, clove and bubblegum

T- slightly sweet up front with some light caramel and vanilla cream, followed by a plain coffee flavor mid-palate. The finish gives clove and bubblegum with a hint of wheat

M- medium body with medium carbonation leads to a foamy mouthfeel that continues into a crisp finish

O- just enough coffee to taste it but keep high drinkability

My wife bought a six pack of this beer....from a traditional long neck brown bottle, this beer pours a light blonde color with a frothy white head. Not bad lace. The aroma has quite a bit of coffee scents...not espresso or fresh-brewed coffee, but rather more of an instant coffee scent. The taste is slightly sweet, with a bit of malt and a continued coffee note. Not bad, but also not really exciting or exceptional at all.

Pours an ordinary golden with a white head that dissipates quickly. It smells like sweet coffee with undertones of chocolate and vanilla and a slightly golden brown roasted malt finish. It's sweeter than expected, but has a nice coffee taste with a vanilla finish and that same slightly golden brown blonde ale taste. It's very drinkable and goes down easily. Overall better than original blue moon and not too bad.

One glass bottle of a six-pack poured into a cylindrical glass.
L:Perfectly clean and clear, a shiny golden hue, like apple juice. A short wheat head appears only a finger or so tall and quickly subsides

S: First earthy cloves, followed by very light coffee with wheat on the tail. Surprisingly minimal coffee on the nose. No one scent stands out, they each gently take turns.

T: Wow, coffee taste is much deeper than I anticipated, starting in the middle of the palate and then flooding the mouth. It starts light and then is progressively emboldened. Bread follows on the end, as if it were an iced coffee with oat milk. Perhaps light notes of cinnamon here and there, plus a light pervading sweetness throughout.

F: Light bodied and low carbonation. Just slight bitterness on the swallow.

After evaluation, I feel this iced coffee blonde deserves to be respected. The smell was much subtler than the bold taste. I desired more of the mouthfeel, there was not much to work with. I think it could have gone without honey and instead replaced a spice like cardamom or clove. However, as a fan of coffee, especially iced, it was enjoyable. There may be better out there.

I love coffee/beer mashups and this one from Blue Moon did a great job. It poured into a blondish gold that resembled an iced coffee for sure. You can definitely smell that coffee flavoring and when you sip, you get a sweet coffee after taste. Blondes are a delicious beer style to begin with, but something about this coffee flavoring really pairs well with the style. All in all a smooth drinking beer that refreshes when you're in a beer and coffee mood.

Overall considerably Good. Coffee Flavor defiantly comes through in the tasting notes. The beer itself is somewhat bland, more suited towards a larger Market. Appeals to a majority of drinkers who don't scoff at Beer like an enthusiast. It would be much better if they would go with more boldness but none the less, A pretty good Ale.
American take on a Belgian Wheit Beir, perfect for any time of the year in my opinion. Nice Maltiness with the added coffee notes. Quickly becomes tangy after a few sips, so don't overload your pallet. This beer would really stand out if they would have used Lactose Sugar in the fermentation process. If they would have made this beer a Blonde Coffee Cream Stout, they would would have a true winner on their hands. They could have used the coffee extract as replacement for the darker roasted Malts.

$8 for a 12 pack at the Salvage Store in Harahan, Louisiana.

"Wheat ale with coffee and clover honey." 185 kCal per 12 fl oz bottle. 5.4% ABV. Made with Decaf coffee beans.

Has a noticeable coffee flavour, which is better than I expected. Has some earthiness and even a bit of roast. So many coffee ales out there fail to actually evoke coffee, but Blue Moon/Coors has done here what many craft breweries fail to.

The honey makes this ale insanely high carb without giving it much in terms of flavour...I mean I'm glad they used honey instead of lactose, but the sugary sweetness it brings doesn't help the beer (and this isn't mead or braggot-like so I'm not seeing a net benefit in terms of flavour).

Not much of a wheat ale; with all the honey sweetness any malts save for maybe 6-row/pale malt disappear. I wouldn't know it was a wheat ale if I tried it blind...tastes more like a coffee blonde ale (which, of course, is incidentally how they market it...).

Yeah, they could improve it with a deeper more expressive coffee varietal (why not single origin, and a non-decaf while we're at it) but I don't think anyone expects much from Blue Moon. Better than your buddy's Folgers homebrew and more coffee-emphatic than most craft brewed coffee ales I've tried.

I've had worse. This is drinkable. I can't say I'd ever pay full price but as a knockaround coffee ale for casual drinking I regard it as a minor success.

Is this just a wheat ale because ordinary Blue Moon is known by its key demo as being a wheat beer?

12 oz bottle served in a lager glass.
Pours with a clear amber body with a white head that has good retention.
Aroma. Hoppy coffee.
Flavor. Follows the aroma but lacks harmony. Coffee and blonde ale aspects appear in about equal strength. Mild bitterness.

A ChANge of the usual CANQuest (tm) malarkey as I Pop! the cap on a Bottle (gasp!), just to keep my hand in. I actually have a couple of Blue Moon CANs, also, but I have done bottle reviews on them previously so there is no great hurry with them.

From the Bottle: "Blue Moon Iced Coffee Blonde Brewer's Select"; "Wheat Ale with Coffee and Clover Honey"; "Golden-colored Wheat Ale made with Fair Trade Decaf Coffee Beans".

I was disappointed in my hopes of Pop!ping the cap when it turned out to be just another screwed-up screw-off cap. 8=( I took out my frustration in the form of a heavy-handed aggro pour into the awaiting glass. It actually foamed up quite nicely in response, forming two-plus fingers of soapy, foamy, rocky, French Vanilla-colored head with decent retention. Color was Yellow-Gold (SRM = 4 - 5) with NE-quality clarity, calling forth The Gelt Gang of MIdas, Mammon & Croesus for a taste. I definitely got coffee on the nose, but it kind of overwhelmed everything else. It seemed to require that you like coffee from the outset, which was not a problem for me, but it may not be everyone's cuppa. Mouthfeel was thin-to-medium, not watery, but not far removed from it, either. The taste had an oddly incongruous sweetness, undoubtedly from the honey, but begging the question of why they were afraid to commit to simply coffee. Finish fell in that twilight zone between semi-sweet & semi-dry. It was as if the brewer could not make up his mind during his selection process & decided to straddle a number of fences without commitment. I will follow suit and be noncommittal. YMMV.

father in law picked this up, knowing my undying love for both beer and coffee, thanks man! i have always liked the blue moon variants, and the fact that they keep making new ones, higher pace of innovation it seems than any other established brand in the blue moon space, so well done on that. this one is cool, done with honey and decaf beans. i like the idea of it not having caffeine actually, it allows for heavy drinking without the heavy upper vibe, there are enough beers out there that can do that for me, so its cool to have the flavor without the physical impact. the coffee is pretty subtle in this clearish golden brew, i smell it just a bit more than i taste it, and it has a cool dry cocoa character to it, a light roasty vibe coming through, and an earthy richness that adds a lot to the relatively straightforward wheat based brew. the honey makes it pretty sweet, not too sweet to hammer a bunch of them back, but if it was an attempt to balance any coffee bitterness, they overshot it some. fortunately, i like the flavor of honey, and i like it with coffee, so it works here, its not generic malt sweetness, and thats what saves it, doesnt make this seem cheap or anything, the honey flavor is excellent. just a little something from the yeast in the finish, good carbonation, and a round body. best when very cold, but i like the way it warms up too, and overall i was pretty stoked on this. definitely one of the best blue moon beers i have had in a long time, something a little different in the style, very well executed. craftier to me than some of the others have seemed, well done!

Tall, quickly receding white head over a slightly hazy gold body. Faint smell of coffee over grains. Coffee dominates the mild flavor profile..Clean finish. Somewhat north of thin mouthfeel with mild carbonation. Quite a refreshing brew that doesn't offend but also does not excite. Good Summer beer.
