Blue Moon LightSky, a 95-calorie, light citrus wheat beer. Brewed with real tangerine peel and dry hopped with Azacca, this 4% ABV quencher packs bright citrus on the nose and a touch of malt sweetness.

Look: Slightly hazy golden color. Creamy looking head, not super thin or super thick. The head dissipates rather quickly. You can see a decent amount of carbonation.
Smell: You can certainly smell the citrus most on this one. Smells very nice in my opinion. It really reminds me of the taste of fresh squeezed orange juice. Not much beery scent.
Taste: Tastes rather good, you definitely get a good bit of that orange flavor on the front end and the back end. You can taste the beer in the middle rather well. Definitely a light flavor that's for sure. No bitterness at all. Almost a bit watery. Refreshing though to be sure. It could be my palate changing through the process of drinking, but the orange flavor is giving way to an almost dry, very light, and watery beer flavor. It is a bit disappointing as I would have rated the taste much higher initially.
Feel: Definitely thin, this isn't sticking in your mouth or coating anything. Like I mentioned during taste, it is almost dry.
Overall: I must say that I am somewhat disappointed in this beer. I did not enjoy it as much as the regular blue moon. Honestly, I think part of it is the fact that it tasted so nice at first and then only went downhill as I continued to drink it. Just kind of a letdown honestly. If the flavor had persisted, I probably would have rated it a good bit higher. Probably not a repeat buy for me personally. I've had much better light beers. This is an okay/poor beer to me. Not the worst I've had, but pretty close.

Poured from a can into a pint glass. Pours orange yellow with a fluffy white head. Smells of tropical fruit, but a bit artificial. Tastes of tropical fruit with a hint of sweet grain. Beer is light bodied and easy drinking, good carbonation. Overall, an average beer.

Now I'm grading this on the fact that its a low carb beer.
Aroma is grain, tangerine fruit and peel, mild floral honey.
Taste is very similar to aroma, not overpowering but flavorful enough to keep me interested.
For low carb its a very decent beer

A: Pours a very lightly hazy pale yellow in color with moderate amounts of fine active visible carbonation rising quickly from the bottom of the glass and moderate straw yellow + pale golden yellow + bright yellow colored highlights. The beer has a three finger tall fizzy sudsy foamy bright white head that quickly reduces to a couple of small patches of thin film surrounded by a large patch of mottled very thin film covering the remainder of the surface of the beer and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Minimal amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Moderate aromas of citrus/tangerine zest + citrus/tangerine + artificial orange over the top of moderate aromas of wheat + grainy + pale malts with a minimal amount of grainy + sugary sweetness.

T: Upfront there are light to moderate flavors of wheat + grainy + pale malts with a minimal amount of grainy + sugary sweetness. That is followed by slightly lighter than moderate flavors of citrus/tangerine zest + citrus/tangerine + artificial orange. No perceptible hop presence and minimal bitterness is present.

M: Light bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Slightly crisp upfront and slightly thin/watery. Hints of dryness in the finish.

O: Easy to drink with the light and slightly dry mouthfeel as well as the well hidden alcohol. Overall the flavor and aroma of this beer are quite light and I don’t love the artificial orange flavor/aroma that has been added.

Gold in color with a lot of fine sediment within the body. There’s a fingernail of of off white around three quarters of the rim and covering two thirds of the top. Faint lacing. The aroma is of pale wheat and orange. I’m tasting artificial orange (like a scented candle) and pale wheat. The mouth is thin and watery.

People on this website are intentionally obnoxious when rating light beers. You don’t drink this because you want depth of flavor you drink this because your on your buddies lawn and it’s 90 degrees. Honestly you bums brew a better light beer it’s hard. And don’t talk to me about Kolsch because they don’t travel well and skink after a month. When I first drank this beer (out of the can because pouring into a glass defeats the purpose you clowns) I thought it was a seltzer. And I mean that in the best possible way because most newer light beers on the market taste way worst then the seltzers coming out. In the past blue moon has given me the runs. We will see how this fairs but so far it does it job which is all we can ask. God bless and good night.

Blue Moon Brewing Co. "Light Sky Citrus Wheat"
12 fl. oz. can coded "JUL0422 02 E1010190548". Sampled on APR2122.
$1.99 @ Total Wine & More, Cherry Hill, NJ

Notes via stream of consciousness: A rough pour has brought up a massive head of bright white foam atop a hazy light yellow-gold body. The aroma is 100% tangerine-like. I'm not finding any malt, just tangerine, and it actually seems authentic. I know that it's brewed with tangerine peels but it also includes "natural flavor". The taste is not nearly as bright and full as the aroma suggests it will be. Wait a second, is this a hard seltzer? Only kidding. The flavor is not as rich and full as you might expect given the aroma but it IS a light beer at just 4% ABV and 95 calories. There's some sweetish and wheaty malt flavor to it and the tangerine remains, it's just not as strong as if you'd just torn the peel of one open. It's not that bitter but it does finish dry as there's really not that much malt there. Now I have to ask myself how to rate it. It's a light beer but it's a light beer with fruit added. Would I rather have this or some other standard light beer? I think I would get tired of this but I'd probably also get tired of most other light beers as well. I don't know but it's pretty damned good for a light beer. The head has held up really well and there's a cyclone of splashes and spots of lace above. In the mouth it's light bodied and gently crisp. All in all I have to hand it to them as this is a great beer that puts a dent in the light beer market with just 95 calories.
