Beer pours a purple-ish amber, if that is such a thing with little head retention. Smells very faintly of berries,no hops noted. Tastes....not very tart, but rather a semi-sweet, ever-so-slightly sour beer. Mouthfeel is astringent, thin and tartness/acidity burns a little.

Overall, I guess its still a beer, but I wouldn't drink again. It is almost like they were torn between making a fruit beer and a sour ale but combined both and the results aren't spectacular. Would like to have more pronounced fruit character and tartness with less acidity. I would give this to a wine drinker that didn't usually drink beer.

12 oz bottle pours a clear copper color with a decent sized off-white head. Modest retention and no lace.

Nose is caramel malts and a healthy dose of berry juice. Not bad, really.

Taste is toasty and caramely malt with a fruity finish. It reminds me of the "dubbel" they did a while back with the added berries. Its not too sweet, which I was initially afraid of. The malts can get a little toasty and lean astringent at times, but this is one of the better Blue Moon spin-offs.

Poured from a 12oz bottle (best by date 28Sep15) into a pint glass.
LOOK: A half finger's worth of white foam is formed after the initial pour. This cuts down to a line after 15 seconds. Copper in color with a yellow tint (that's a strange color combo). Rising bubbles are in excess (yet another beer that leaves me wondering why the foam head isn't bigger). Lacing is thin and moderate.
SMELL: Mild bread and pecan aromas from malts along with mild blackberry are the first noticable scents. A hint of spicy hops and coffee (from roasted malts) lies beneath these stronger aromas. Individually, these aromas are great, but the combined smell gives off an old sweetbread aroma.
TASTE: Mild blackberry and pale malt (weren't detected by the nose) flavors mix to create the initial taste. Mild coffee, pecan, and bready malt aromas enter right after. As all flavors persist except pale malts, which grow stronger, subtle spicy hop flavors enter the palate.
FEEL: Medium-bodied and highly carbonated (oh, how I despise you in great amounts, carbonation). Creaminess and smoothness are both high (I really love this aspect).
NOTE: This beer was interesting. It's individual taste components were on point, but when combined together, they just didn't get the job done. This was nothing terrible, but I wouldn't see me buying this. Now if someone handed me one, I would gladly drink it.
