This is the greatest place to have a beer. Ever. Get on a plane, and fly to Denmark just to visit this place. The bottle list is insane. Vintage Side Project, 1988 Chimays, tons of Cantillon, 20 different Mexican Cakes, 2 batches of Atrial.. it’s unreal. Get the pizza from next door, too. You can order and pay at the bar and they will bring it over to you. I would live there if I could.

This is my new favorite place in Copenhagen! Came here after Warpigs to have some sours...

The place is tiny, seating maybe 30. No real decorations, just some tables and chairs. The music playing was awful, but kinda suited the place. They call themselves a dive bar, and the look of the place is just that.

Service was quick, effective and the guy knew what he was doing. We were here at 1 PM, which meant there was noone else there to begin with.

Now, selection... great tap list, not huge, but a lot of diversity, and impressive beers, like '15 Bourbon Barrel aged Mexican Cake and Vietnamese Coffee Speedway. Loads of cans, primarily Pipeworks. Great prices too, a can of Ninja vs Unicorn cost 60 Danish crowns, about 8 dollars. But the reason we were here was the bottle list, and it is NUTS! Pretty much all the Cantillons and 3 Fonteinen you could ever want, Cycle Brewing stouts, lots of Westbrook Cakes and Chimay Bleu from 19 fucking 88... The rarer things were pricey, of course, but the Cantillons were veritably cheap. A 750 ml bottle of Mamouche went for 250 Danish, about 35 dollars. I can't remember seeing this stuff at these prices anywhere in Sweden or Denmark. I will return to Himmeriget every time I'm in Copenhagen from now on, and if you visit the city, DO NOT miss this place!

EDIT: Having now been to Himmeriget a number of times, I have to raise my rating a bit. This place is one of the top two beer places IN EUROPE as far as I'm concerned, together with Akkurat in Stockholm. The beers they routinely get, both on tap and to go is just world class with all the best Euros and Americans. It's a little bit out of the way, but if you're in Copenhagen, GO HERE!

I ended up going here three times during my trip to Copenhagen. This is a small bar with a very cozy atmosphere. The bartenders are really nice and helpful and very knowledgeable regarding the beers on tap and in bottles. The beers on draft offered a nice variety and the regular bottle/can list, which is posted on the wall, had many excellent offerings, including several Cigar City and Pipeworks cans. What really puts this bar over the top is the specialty bottle list, which has some truly incredible and hard to find lambics and gueuze at prices that are better than what I saw elsewhere in Copenhagen. If you are in Copenhagen, don't miss going to Himmeriget! Such a great place.
