When I first moved to Minneapolis I stopped by Brit's, now it is one of my favorite places to have an English ale. Keep in mind that this place is NOT a place to sample a variety of different beers. This is the bar you go to when you want to drink English ales in an environment that simulates what it would be like to be in an English pub. I've never been to a real English pub, but I envision one being a slightly dirtier, smaller, and homy version of Brit's. I don't think they have lawn bowling on the roofs of pubs in England either. There is a nice selection of English beers on tap at Brit's. These include Old Speckled Hen, Tetleys, Boddingtons, Fullers London Pride, Fullers ESB, and Newcastle. They have some other reasonable beers on tap such as Guinness, but I didn't go to an English styled pub to drink Irish Beer (the Local is down the street if you really want a good pint of Guinness). I always pick one of the English beers (except for Newcastle) and am quite happy. I've never had time, but I'd love to sit here for an afternoon and have a nice session of beer drinking. From what I've had, the food is pretty good. I've really only tried the pub fries and the fish n chips. The fish n chips are probably some of the best in the Twin Cities and definitely worth trying if you go to Brit's.

Overall, this place is a very solid choice if you like English beers or if you want an excuse to talk with a phony British accent.

English pub downtown in Minneapolis within a three tiered building capable of holding massive amounts of people. The pub holds a large outdoor area for lawn bowling on the second level that has also been used for national level pole vaulting events. Great place to watch soccer and rugby and has an enjoyable atmosphere overall. If one is a fan of authentic English style beers, this is the place to go. They carry at least 3 or 4 Fullers beers at once in addition to the expected beers in US version of an English or Irish pub. They also carry a few local beers. The pricing is very much in line with other establishments downtown with their quality of beer and venue. The food is also quite good. Their menu actually seems a bit larger than other English pubs I have been to and their prices are typical of downtown restaurants, but not over the top

Good example of an American British pub. Good selection of english ales, but the same stuff and you can find anywhere. The food was good pub grub and the atmosphere was good (it was a pretty good crowd on a tuesday night). Wait staff was average. Overall, not bad, but not great either.

In terms of selection, this is the typical British import line-up (which is kind of disappointing, considering they're successful enough to throw in a little something a bit more interesting) and then some locals...good vibe and the lawn bowling in the summer makes it stand out.

It has a decent vibe, a reasonable selection and some nice scotches. Its a good location to rest your feet. The sidewalk tables are nice in the summer.
