On tap at Triumph New Hope on 5/30/09.

A - Clear amber/orange, copper-tinged body with mild carbonation and a fluffy two-finger off-white head that settled to a quarter inch of retention and deposited attractive lacing around the glass.

S - Spicy, piney hop character with a some subtle citrus notes. Some sweet malty notes also blend into the mix, but the aroma is predominantly spicy and hoppy. Some alcohol notes also emerged as it warmed up.

T - Lots of spicy and piney hop characteristics up front with a splash of citrus fruit provide an aggressive bitterness that is balanced by a sweet caramel maltiness. Some mild alcohol warmth emerged as it warmed up. Finish is spicy and bitter.

M - Medium bodied with a slight oily, sticky texture and mild carbonation. Some alcohol warmth envelopes the tastebuds. Hop bitterness is moderate to bordering aggressive and lingers for a bit on the palate.

D - Solid single hop varietal IPA from Triumph with one of my favorite hops. Aaaah... Simcoe!

Triumph (New Hope)- Simcoe IPA

A- Deep clear amber orange/ brown with a thick frothy head. Good soild ringed lacing.
S- Big bitter hops with sweet citrus and caramel.
T- Thick toffee caramel malt quickly gives way to a big oily pine hoppiness. Grapefruit, pineapple, and orange citrus make a bold stand.
M- Very hoppy and bitter with a smooth creamy malt finish.

Overall- Not disappointed at all. They delivered what I was hoping for. Hopefully this appears more often.

On tap at the New Hope location.

Poured a medium amberish/orangish color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of citrus and some floral hoppiness. Tastes of citrus, orange peels, floral hops, light caramel, and finished a little spicy. Some lacing left on the glass. Hit the spot after a day out in the sun!
