Served up a deep golden with lovely sticky white head that leaves great lacing on the snifter. This beer has a wonderful aroma that is both sweet and full of wonderful floral hop notes with plenty of saaz and what seems to be a bit of spice. Imperial pilseners always seem to be more balanced to me, and this one is. Very nice sweet malt that is very biscuity and light. The hops are also very prominent with a nice noble character and wonderful floral, herbal and sweet grassy notes. Bitterness is not too harsh and is well balanced by the malt presence. I find that as the beer warms, some alcoholic warmth pokes through, but it just adds to my enjoyment of this libation. Medium bodied with a nice balanced finish that goes from a bit sweet, to nice and dry as it lingers on the tongue. Not nearly as drinkable as a normal pilsener, but for an imperial this goes down great. Probably the best beer I have had from any of the three Triumph brewpubs.
