Pours (from can) beautiful hazy golden yellow with fluffy white foam, but with multiple bits of white floating remanent pieces on the bottom!
Notes of strong lemon citrus hops and simple hop flavor.
Trader Joe value special.

Type: 12-oz. can
Reviewed as: New England IPA
Glass: Clear 16-oz. Bruges beer glass
Price: $1.34
From: Trader Joe’s in Scripps Ranch (San Diego), Calif.
Purchased: Feb. 21, 2020
Consumed: March 1, 2020
Misc.: Canned on Jan. 24, 2020 at 8:36 a.m. CT
I believe I had seen this in stores before, but was surprised to see I hadn’t had it yet. Was kind of a fan of Campanology brews, especially for the price. I had reviewed seven of their beers heading into this one from a 3.42 to a 4.22, averaging a 3.88. Only think I knew about it going in was that it was a hazy beer.
Poured a medium yellow hazy color with two fingers of frothy off-white head. Could see a few bubble streams coming up along the sides of the glass. Very good spotty lacing. Outstanding retention. (Sight - 4.00)
Smelled orange, pineapple, melon, citrus zest, peach, apricot and Fruit Loops. Much better out of the can with additional notes of passion fruit, along with Fruit Loops and orange. (Smell - 3.50)
Tasted similar to the nose. In order got orange peel, melon, peach, apricot, pineapple, passion fruit, sugary citrus notes and lemon. No idea of hops. (Taste - 3.25)
Medium body. Oily texture. Average carbonation. Dry finish. (Feel - 3.50)
This was good overall, but I may have overrated it slightly. No need to have again, even with the price. (Overall - 3.50)

Complementation has a very thick, off-white head, an opaque, gold-yellow appearance, with heavy glass lacing. Aroma is of fruits, hop resins, and sweet, white bread. The flavor is similar, with building bitterness. Mouthfeel is nearly heavy, and Complementation finishes somewhat sweet.

Poured from a 12 ounce can to a tulip glass. Hazy straw gold color with good white head and lacing
On the nose, pine, citrus and some floral hints
Taste is hop forward (a polite way of saying a bit overwhelmed by the hops). Then pine and citrus, apparently El Dorado and Citrus hops
Feel is a natural carbonation and light bodied, as if they skimped on the malt??
Not brilliant, but recommended by a Trader Joes beer enthusiast in Allston, MA. He said it was great for the money
At $1.33 each, this is a great one for a party or as a back up.

hazy, but somehow, not in a good way. kinda doesn't set the stage well.
nose is nondescript, kinda sour grapefruit and funk. This isn't a sour is it?
taste...hmm.
dunno. hop bitterness is there. some malt sweetness, Wonderbread and lemon juice?
Mouthfeel is ok, about right.
This tastes like a rough draft of an imitation of something mediocre.
Ouch...I'm sorry. I don't like being so mean.
I think I've had a bunch of really nice hazy IPAs lately and this one just pales (sorry) in comparison.
Can I at least say the art on the can is kind of cool?
But honestly, even that is a copy of something that I might kind of feel meh about.

I like ipas so I'll happily drink this again but I would rank it lower than some others of the hazy style. This one is definitely the cheapest I've found though. Nice graphics on the packaging. Bit on the bitter side would detract from the overall rating for the aftertaste. Nice hazy appearance and satisfying mouthfeel.

A: The beer is very hazy yellow in color. It poured with a short white head that died down, leaving a narrow collar around the edge of the glass and some lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of citrusy hops are present in the nose - oranges stand out in particular - along with hints of caramel malts.
T: The taste follows the smell except that the underlying notes of caramel malts are a little stronger and are most noticeable in the finish. Only a light amount of bitterness is perceptible.
M: It feels medium-bodied and somewhat juicy on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer tastes like a hybrid between a New England IPA and an IPA from the late 1990s/early 2000s as it is juicy but caramel malt flavors.
Serving type: can

It's another Trader Joes Beer. Its a Wisconsin version of West Coast IPA, which is sort of a hybrid between a Pale Ale and a Cascade Hopped IPA. In other words not too hoppy, but very drinkable and delicious. Especially compared to some of the other local waters such as Frank Gallagher's (and Chicago's) favorite: Old Style, which is also brewed in Milwaukee. I hope it catches on next time I'm at a Cubs-Brewers fiasco in Mil-town.

Opaque yellow with two finger head. Moderate but soft pine with herb and citrus. Some popcorn. Flavor is grassy. Starts sweet with a somewhat better finish.

Umm, well, it’s something. Ya know? Like when Picasso first did his thing, yeah, that was something.
First and foremost, it pours like a normal hazy - like a crushed up banana. Aroma - wow! Nice and fairly pungent. Raul is Cialis excited. Taste, well, I wouldn’t call it bad, but like the Punky Brewster chick in the back of your Astronomy class that chewed on her pencil, it’s kind of weird. Don’t get me wrong, Punky was kind of hot. But she’s still Punky, ya know?
And with this beer? Wow, I am at a loss. I don’t hate it. I don’t like it, I just... Well, that’s about it, I “just.”
