Received in a trade and shared with JLindros.

A - Poured into a Kate the Great tulip a nice dark brown almost black with a fat mocha head that fades to leave light wisps and great legs.

S - Big aromas of pecan nut roll, huge pecan nuttiness going on. Really smooth slightly sweet rich coffee. Nice chocolate, lightly sweet as well. Almost chicory or licorice like.

T - Taste is similar to the nose with loads of sweeter nuts. Almost reminds me of those earlier batches of Abyss in the sense that there is big chicory/licorice notes along with a a rather sweet stout base. Loads of rich slightly bitter coffee and flashes of vanilla. The alcohol is hidden however it definitely sneaks up.

M - Mouthfeel is lightly carbonated, smooth and creamy, alcohol hidden quite nicely.

O - Overall this was a very solid imperial stout. The licorice like notes are a bit aggressive but they work, again almost like a fresh Abyss circa 2010. The coffee is really mellow too. Very nice. Glad I finally got to try a Horus stout!

Thanks to rudzud
Pours a huge mocha colored head with moderate retention, good lacing long legs, inky black color

Nose big dark chocolate cocoa, roasted malts and little coffee but not acrid, fair amount nutty, pecan like and little baking spice from the roast, faint licorice or chicory

Taste more of everything, toasty with fair coffee, big nutty and pecan like, more chicory and little licorice like, big dark roasty heavy malt, almost fudgey, no real caramel or molasses otherwise similar to abyss, touch with a little vanilla and baking spices, medium bitterness more from the roasted malts that hops, sticky sweet finish, lingering nutty and little chocolate

Mouth is full bodied rich almost chewy, Lenin lighter carb, almost no alcohol

Postal quite nice, again reminds me of abyss old school grassy big stout without needing a barrel
