Sampling a 22 oz cellar temp bottle poured into my snifter. Part of a swap with @kavinci, thanks man!
The beer pours a jet black oil slick hue with a creamy densely packed brown head of about 1.5 cm. this foam fades to a wispy surface layer very strong edge layer that leaves scattered lattice after each sip.
The aroma is sweet chocolate, light and sweet coffee notes, and a heavy dose of maple syrup. There is a bit of roasted malt note too but this is generally a sweet nose with no hop presence and the booze is well hidden here.

First sip reveals a rich and hearty fairly thick body with a creamy and smooth texture. Carbonation is mild and gentle and lightly rolls across my palate. Physical traits on this beer are great, especially for the larger ABV, making this a dangerous drinker, as it goes down too easy!
Flavor reveals sweet malt profile similar to what the nose advertises up front. I get sweet chocolate, light coffee notes, some brown sugar and a bit of hot chocolate as well. Also a bit of maple syrup comes through midway and then I do get a bit of black peppery booze bite on the finish, but this is then covered by sweet chocolate coating, and there is no accompanying warming. Again, dangerous drinker! No hop profile on the flavor either, this is a sweet malty brew with good complexity and amazing drinkability. Watch yourself with this one.
Very glad to have tried this one, would definitely drink again and now want to try other Horus brews if given the chance.
