Notes:
Exhibiting a deep, reddish copper hue, this traditional Irish Red Ale gives way to a toasty, dry roasted flavor with a pleasing drying finish. Roasted barley augments the woody, roasted character offset by a kiss of malt sweetness at mid-palate. The subtle hopping provided by Golding, Willamette and Cascade hop varieties advance a frisson of hop bitterness which also offsets the mild, sweet finish with a light, citrus aspect which lingers in the aftertaste of this satisfying Irish treat. The mild aftertaste and the lush, thick white head are continually replenished by the ongoing effervescence which tickles the tongue as beer lovers savor this unique and delicious Irish Red Ale. We expect this re-creation of the original recipe for Irish Red Ale to be eminently sessionable.

City Lights Irish Style Red Ale, this is a 12oz. can poured into my 16oz. City Lights can glass. There is a lumpy two fingered tan cap of foam. Half of this foam slowly dissipated, leaving behind nice thick lacing. Under the foam is an amber colored ale with light carbonation.
There is a pleasant malt aroma, that of fresh bread with a hint of yeast.
The flavor is the toasted bread, slightly sweet caramel, and a fresh crisp, very light, bitter finish.
The feel is smooth. This is a very pleasant Irish Red. It looks good and tastes good. A very easy one to drink. Nice malt flavors up front with a light hop finish. Good job City Lights!

Poured from a can into a tulip. Pours deep red with a fluffy white head. Smells of caramelized grain. Tastes of caramelized grain. Beer is light bodied and easy drinking, good carbonation. Overall, a good beer.
