A- Red-copper. Head is one finger off white and has poor retention.
S- The aroma is very pleasant. Toasty, earthy, caramel. Only negative is there is a distant, but lingering sourness to the beer.
T- Light caramel is the big flavor throughout. There is a bit of a floating toasty flavor and some butterscotch. As relatively big as the nose was though, this was light in flavor, with the finish dropping off quickly.
M- Light in carbonation, too thin. Leaves a sticky feeling at the end.
O- It's merely an ok beer. One that is forgettable, unforunately.

Poured from a long neck bottle into a standard pint glass.

Appearance: Pours a light and clear amber color with a one finger tan foam head that faded quick and left a hint of lacing behind.

Smell: Citrus and pine hops with some caramel and toffee malts.

Taste: Bright citrus and pine hops up front that are balanced well by some good caramel or brown sugar malts.

Mouth Feel: Light-to-medium body with medium carbonation.

Overall: I like this one better than Gray's Busted Knuckle Irish Red. This one has a better hops flavor and good balancing malts. A bit bolder and with more flavor than the Busted Knuckle. This is my favorite of the Gray's beers so far, but it's still a fairly average beer and nothing too special or memorable.

I bought a 8-pack Gray's Sampler from Woodman's in Janesville, WI in Spring 2011 for $10.39.

Pours a reddish brown color with a one finger head of fluffy foam that qucikly disappears. Scent is malty with a scent that reminds me of a weak grape juice for some reason. Taste is mildly malty but with decent flavor. Perhaps a little bit of burnt sugars or toasted malts as well. Decent volume and texture, could be a little thicker but it's fine the way it is. A better than average brew from my hometown!
