Great overall ale easy to find in tall boy cans or bottles and relatively cheap, would definitely recommend

To start it has a very red like color but it doesn't seem forced. Serve chilly and it comes out more moderately clear with a light fog. The head disappears quickly.
The smell is very sweet and toasty and makes this very approachable.
The taste is dark and roasted with a sweet dessert like finish like eating a tart dark chocolate. The feel is a little to light for a good Irish red but I can forgive.
Overall I would say that it really is was a dark horse in terms of what I was expecting considering I paid a dollar and quarter a pint. I would say if you find a good deal on it go for it

Mahogany body. Thin dirty white head. Lacing is sporadic. Fresh yeast and caramel malts on the nose. Some sugar too. Nice caramel malt base. Solid footing. Some dry woodiness lingers, which adds a nice touch. Hops add a little herbalness. All in all, a nice flavor profile. Body is medium full. Subdued carbonation, though not a creamy feel perse. Decent enough offering.

I got this beer in a mixed eight pack from grays at the Lager Mill for $10.99. I Have liked all the other beers I have tried from grays so I am interested to see how this Irish Red turns out. No visible bottling date. Poured from a 12oz brown bottle into a pint glass.

A- The label art is kinda cool, I like the pissed off leprechaun clenching his fist. This beer poured a nice copper/red color with two fingers worth of white head that died down to a thin lump.

S- I pick up lots of sweet caramel malts. There's some bread aromas and a slight amount of yeasty spices. There was also a mild presence of some grassy hops towards the end.

T- Just as in the aroma, caramel malts shine through the most in this brew, it's sweet, but not overly sweet. The yeast and bread flavors also come through from the aroma. The grassy and earthy hops adds a slight bitterness to the finish that is not overpowering and helps balance out the sweet caramel malts.

M- Medium light bodied, slightly crisp, mediocre carbonation, and a slightly dry finish.

Overall I thought this was a good Irish Red Ale, one of the better ones I have had. Everything about this beer was pretty spot on for it style and it was highly drinkable. This would make a good spring time brew, wish I had some of these on St. Pattys day. Another good beer from grays and one that I would buy again and recommend to anybody who likes this style.

Busted Knuckle pours a dark reddish color with a nice long lasting and lacing head. There is a roubust roasted aroma, with a nice sweetness. The taste has a mellow roasted flavor, a little too sweet, and some earthy tones. A little too carbonated, but still some nice flavors. Overall its a decent red ale, some nice flavors, but a little too sweet to be great

A - Rich, copper colored body beneath a pale tan head of less than an inch. The head is fading at a moderate pace.

S - Mild hops amidst caramel malts with a sharp plum accent.

T - It certainly has the evidence of an Irish Ale. There's a sharpness to the flavor here to match the aroma. Carmel malts are witnessed along with interesting hops.

M - Mildly coarse throughout.

~ This is not something I'll recommend to friends. Not because it poorly represents the style but because I'm not a big fan of the style. As far as drinkability within the style... I say average or a bit better.

Hazy red-orange with a thin white head that fades quickly.
Smell is bready malts with a touch of spices, as well as some faint hops.
Taste is lightly spiced malts with some faint ginger notes. Mild bitter wave from the hops near the finish. Finish is malts, with a slight hops presence.
Mouthfeel is slightly crisp, with a dry finish. Light body.
Drinkability is good. Nothing spectacular about this one, but a satisfying beer overall.

Pours a nice looking Irish red. A clear, amber color with a thin white head that goes away very quickly.
Smell does not have a lot going on. A little bit of malt.
Taste is okay. Easy drinking Irish red. A bit of toffee malt.
Mouthfeel is one of the best parts of this beer. Good thickness and very smooth all the way down.
Drinkability is good. A very easy drinking beer, but not a lot of tastes going on that would make you want to drink more. It has nice marketing on the bottle for St. Patty's Day chugging beer, so I guess this beer fits someone who wants to chug a fake Irish beer all day. Better than Killian's, but that means nothing.
