Notes:
The first DIPA we ever brewed is back for another rotation. Tropical hop juice with some of our all time ride or dies: Citra, Mosaic, El Dorado and Galaxy. We tweaked the grain bill and dry hopping schedule (read: more) to reflect how our approach to brewing hoppy beer has evolved since the first time around and are extremely stoked for you to taste where we landed with this one.

Appearance: hazy but clean, bold yellow. Poured into a Spiegelau IPA glass. 1.5 inch foamy white head.
Smell: Assorted orange and tropical fruits, fresh and slightly underripe with pleasant sour tang and laces of subtle grasses.
Taste: Sharp on the arrival. Citric acid, like orange extract or orange juice reduction, with a smattering of tropical notes. The beer turns oddly sweet midpalate into the finish, with fresh grasses muddled in simple syrup.
Feel: Blackstack IPAs always seem to excel in the mouthfeel and this one is no different. Pillowy and airy, its neither thin nor heavy. Extremely pleasing texture to deliver a fruit-forward brew.
Overall: As far as the style goes, this is well done. As far as Blackstack's pedigree for NEIPA's goes, this is middling to slightly underwhelming. The evolution on the palate from citric to sweet seems disjointed, but there's no note that's offputting, out of bounds, or unenjoyable

Delicious NE IPA! 16 oz can, purchased through Tavour. Poured into a pint glass, and could pass as a glass of pineapple juice. Strong citrusy aroma and taste. This is my first chance to try something by BlackStack and would do so again.

No canning date (released on 4/23/20; presumably canned within a few days of that date)
Pours an opaque ultra-pale straw body topped with multiple fingers of rocky, soapy white foam; very good head retention leaves a thin, frothy cap, moderate collar, and sparse spatter of webby/spotty lacing around the glass.
Aroma bursts with supremely balanced dank notes flowing with precision to open, steadily inviting sticky grapefruit and touches of guava; bright tangerine and orange pith brings a tropical surge over the middle, while a slight weedy cream tone accents the back end.
Taste offers oily grass and mushy white grape upfront, doused in an underlying tropical nectar; ripe pineapple, spiced lemon zest, and dank mango and apricot build over the mid-palate and into the finish, a fruity amalgam touched with soft herbal suggestions.
Mouthfeel brings a crisp, flaky medium-light body with a progressive, moderate carbonation; a cloudy, creamy texture is undeniably effortless through the mid-palate, proceeding into a rounded, juicy and yet still bitter composition skating through the finish with a cohesive dryness.
A dank, citric explosion of a NEIPA upfront, yet between the lines offers a definition and nuance unseen in lesser interpretations of the style; semi-sweet throughout, though embracing a finer bitterness, this beer remains steady, distinct, and comprehensively satisfying.

From a 16oz can:
Appearance: Murky, yellow-orange, good head.
Smell: Danky, citrus.
Taste: Juicy, big orange juice, nice sweetness, and soft feel.
Overall: Blackstack has another hazy IPA winner in Loud Pack. It takes Local 755 up a few notches in flavor while not getting boozy. Nice to have a local can option for this style of beer.

Can. White head. Hazy sunset gold.
Orange juice and green hops. Some mango and papaya with a floral hop flavor. Very soft. Very juicy. Easy drinking. Medium bodied. Well done.

LOUD PACK! 16 oz. can with no canning date, which is shameful. Though I am amused by the message of “Open Other End” stamped on the bottom. Even weirder that there’s no canning date.
One of the few MN NE IPA BRS that actually looks like something from out east: just a shade darker than pure orange juice. Heady. The smell is great, rife/ripe with light-colored fruits with grapefruit leading the charge. Juicy. Genuinely pleased.
Loud Pack is a new high point for Blackstack. The mouthfeel is fantastic, like a thick fruit slurry with a liberal spooning of sugar blended in. Grapefruit, oranges, citrus, & whatever it is that they put in smoothies that make them like that (yogurt probably, or something more cancer causing). Lovely white grape mid-palate, with a bracing bitterness that finally arrives at the end. So drinkable. Glad I picked up a four pack.
This is supposedly a one-off, but I suspect (hope) that it will be a one off just like Spirit Foul, because when you find the magic potion, why the hell wouldn’t you brew it again? Excellent beer.

First off can is boss looking. Pours a very turbid orange color with a white sticky head. Smell is fruity, dank, tropical and resinous. Taste has 4 hops at a double dose loads of fruit mix with white wine ,citrus mango and pineapple this is a DDH potpourri of hops, Mouth feel is smooth soft and sweet is dank with a lingering mild bitterness. Very impressed with this brew.
