Double white stout brewed with flaked oats, flaked wheat, golden promise and lactose. Fermented on an insane amount of vanilla beans, cacao nibs and locally roasted coffee beans.

-Brewed and canned by Dorechester. Imperial white stout brewed with lactose and aged on cacao nibs, vanilla beans, and locally roasted coffee.

A: With back-lighting a bright and dense nature ensures, juicy orange, showing a small portion of floaties dancing about in the steady-mesmerizing carbonation bubbles. Antique white head has a bready and porous surface, but remains solid through the drink, very well lasting. Not exactly a "white stout" more of a NEIPA lactose induced orange coloring, was expecting more of wit white perhaps. Makes for some splashy lace designs on the vessel.

S: My first impression upon uncapping was a cream ale, of macro descent. Tinny with some background of vanilla and white chocolate. Some dry coffee grounds makes a distinction on the overall finish that had a light awareness factor.

T: The flavor was as with the nose, white chocolate, and coffee grounds with a surprisingly good flavor despite the lack of aromatics. Cocoa nibs are chocolate rich, with a good balance, while the vanilla brings some milky sweetness to the overall contribution, a bit semi-dry like powder creamer. Some dry coffee grounds on the finish are accompanied by milky almond notes.

M: Creamy and chewy mouthful, silky smooth, maybe oats? like smoothness. Low carbonation feel, the mouthful turns light and a bit washy on long holds.

O: Overall the nose was forgettable, the appearance more NEIPA, the flavor was good, more pub style non-discriminatory porter/stout level. The beer overall suffers from confusion of what it wants to be, jumbled with good intentions, but a failed execution. Drinkability was ok, intriguing at first, but maybe tiring mid path making for just an average experience. Honestly a hard beer to define, cartoony can and concept makes it an intriguing draw marketing wise, but hardly one that convinces repeat-ability. I give credit for trying, perhaps this just isn't for me. I"ve had a white barley wines before and found it exceptional. This rests as an average B for me.

Pours very attractive for a white stout ... until you notice all of the particulate out of suspension. It's quite a bit.

Tons of coffee on the nose. Familiar aroma to most white stouts, honestly. Coffee, honey, caramel, chocolate, cream, vanilla.

In a refrain shared by many white stouts, the flavor is a touch artificial and cloying, although not enough to ruin the experience. Tasting notes of coffee, vanilla, cream, honeycomb, toffee, and chocolate. One would never suspect this is supposed to be a stout, though, even blind; it's much closer to an imperial amber or even cream ale.

Aroma is toasted malts and grainy earthiness. The flavor is chocolate/cocoa, malts/toasted, mild fruit and a slightly warm/tart/oily/hint of acidic finish.

16oz can. Poured out a clear, golden orange color with a small, white head of foam. It smelled of coffee, vanilla and chocolate. Strong coffee taste with vanilla and bittersweet chocolate.

Let the mind games begin. What looks unassuming and light quickly turns bold and dark as the concept of "blonde" stout goes imperial. Abomination's version of this beer sells both blonde and stout about as well as possible.

Medium honey amber hues lie underneath a frothy ivory cap with no hint of robustness or bigness in sight. But the nose tells a different story as the scent is chocked full of roasted character in the forms of coffee, cocoa and light char. Picking up on its appearance, the initial taste is caramelized with honey, cereal and sweet cream like a big blonde ale.

The taste quickly transitions to a roasty character of stout with the elements of walnut, breakfast blends coffee, dark chocolate and roasted marshmallows spreading across the middle palate, eventually dwarfing the sweeter cereal flavors midway through. A bittersweet finish of citrus peel and fresh spruce adorn the late palate on route to a fully toasted flavor of porter.

But the imperial blonde stout is full bodied and robust in its extended closure with the support of vanilla and cereal allowing for a malt forward balance in its finish.

Not gonna lie, I was intrigued by the can. I had to pick it up just to admire the artwork but in doing so, read the fine print and realized "hey, this actually sounds pretty tasty." It was. It got a nice coffee-rich, roasted flavor toned down ever so slightly by vanilla and cacao. Nice and stout-ish with the lightness of an ale or lager; super drinkable.

A: The beer is hazy yellow in color and has faint hints of amber hues along with a moderate amount of visible carbonation. The head died down and left a thick coating of bubbles consistently covering the surface along with a narrow collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of coffee beans are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell and has underlying notes of cocoa nibs and lactose with hints of vanilla.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied and a little smooth on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer doesn't seem as complex compared to other stouts, but the use of oats makes it lighter in body than you would expect for a beer with this type of alcohol content. No alcohol is perceptible in the taste.
