A: Pours a milky murky pale orange in color (reminds me of the color of Five Alive Citrus from back in the 80s - who remembers drinking it?) with light to moderate amounts of fine active visible carbonation rising along the edges of the glass and moderate bright yellow + pale golden yellow + peach colored highlights. The beer has a two finger tall dense sudsy foamy off-white head that reduces to a large patch of very thin film covering the entire surface of the beer and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Just shy of moderate amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Moderate to strong aromas of juicy citrus/orange, stone fruit/peach, tropical/mango, and tropical/grapefruit hops over the top of moderate aromas of biscuit + pale + oat + wheat malts with light to moderate amounts of lactose sweetness. Hints of herbal + grassy hops.

T: Upfront there are just shy of moderate flavors of biscuit + pale + oat + wheat malts with light to moderate amounts of lactose sweetness. That is followed by light flavors of herbal + grassy hops and moderate to strong flavors of juicy citrus/orange + stone fruit/peach + tropical/mango + tropical/grapefruit hops which impart a very light amount of bitterness which fades away pretty quickly leaving lingering citrus + tropical hop flavors with a touch of lactose sweetness.

M: Light to medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Light to moderate amounts of soft/fluffiness mid-body and a light amount of dryness in the finish.

O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol and a pleasantly soft/fluffy mouthfeel. Enjoyable and does a great job of highlight Citra hops without being one dimensional. I would definitely grab another couple of these to enjoy on another evening. Delicious.

Appearance: Pours a cloudy honey color with a rather thin cap; spots of lace

Smell: Peach and mango with orange undertones

Taste: Mango forward with subtle peach developing; a citrusy bitterness emerges, in the middle, with an orange flavor conquering along with a bit of a creamsicle tone lingering

Mouthfeel: Medium to full body with moderate carbonation; some creaminess

Overall: Here we have a top flight NE IPA from the best brewer of the style in NC and one that deserves to be considered among the heavyweights

Cloudy and pale gold with a dense and short white head. Amazing grapefruit, orange and mango aromas meld with scents of pine. There is a nice sweetness but a little less than other NEIPAs I've had. Great orange and mango flavors with a whisper of pine and more citrus pith bitterness at the finish. Great beer.

Juicy pale orange hue with a fat little head and spotty lacing. Bright, fruity Citra hop smell with a grassy edge...orange juice and mango coated in hop dust. Flavor is fruity but features that fresh green hoppy dankness that I absolutely love. Pink grapefruit, herbs, peaches, oranges, mangoes, and pine. All-Citra beers can be hit or miss with me because they sometimes feel too one-dimensional or too fruity, but this just nails it with the added oily dank notes. Smooth medium body with a dry finish. Very similar to a Veil offering to my taste buds. NC doesn't have many hoppy beers better than this.

Nice webbed lacing with a murky golden yellow body. The smell is what you would expect from a citra IPA with a small note of sweetness. Taste is similar with strong tropical feels, passionfruit, peach, maple, and orange, light hoppiness. Not something that gropes the tongue like an Imperial IPA in aftertaste. Very refreshing, proud to be from the city in which this beer was brewed! Cheers!!
