16 oz can, into THAT! NE IPA Snifter

Pure juice, very orange juice looking with a creamy cap of 2 fingers. Lots of lace.

Aroma of fresh, sweaty, dank Citra with hints of apricot and peach.

Flavor is much of the same - beautiful dank Citra notes with peach, apricot, grapefruit, and starfruit. Very light floral or perfumed bitterness on the back end but compliments the rest of the profile.

Feel is juicy and soft, good carbonation, no alcohol anywhere.

Overall, glad I grabbed a 4 pack. This beer is phenomenal.

Deep orange haze. Nose is fresh squeezed grapefruit juice and candied peel. Taste is tons of ruby grapefruit with some drippy ripe peach, resin, and mild candied notes. Extra creamy and thick mouthfeel. Tons of chew. Lots of pithy bitterness to finish.

A: Pours a milky murky pale to medium golden honey in color with moderate amounts of fine active visible carbonation rising along the edges of the glass and moderate medium golden yellow + burnt orange + apricot + bright yellow + bright orange colored highlights. The beer has a three finger tall dense sudsy foamy white head that reduces to a small patch of thin film surrounded by a large patch of very thin film covering the remainder of the surface of the beer and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate to significant amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Moderate to strong aromas of juicy tropical/passionfruit + tropical/pineapple + citrus/lime + citrus/grapefruit + citrus/orange + stone fruit/apricot + tropical/mango hops over the top of moderate aromas of biscuit + pale + grainy + caramel + oat malts with a moderate amount of caramel + grainy sweetness.

T: Upfront there are moderate flavors of biscuit + pale + grainy + caramel + oat malts with a moderate amount of caramel + grainy sweetness. That is followed by moderate to strong flavors of juicy tropical/passionfruit + tropical/pineapple + citrus/lime + citrus/grapefruit + citrus/orange + stone fruit/apricot + tropical/mango hops which impart a light amount of bitterness which fades away very quickly leaving slightly heavier than moderate amount of lingering tropical + citrus hop flavors.

M: Medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Moderate amounts of soft/fluffiness mid-body with a light amount of dryness in the finish.

O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol and a very pleasantly soft/fluffy mouthfeel. Enjoyable with very solid tropical + citrus hop flavors and aromas over just enough malty sweetness. Definitely worth grabbing and I could easily have a couple of these though they would definitely sneak up on you.

Thick, murky, orange beer. Smells like oranges, pineapples and floral but slightly pithy hops. Sweet, juicy beer with a nice blanket of carbonation on the tongue. Thick and creamy. Tons of grapefruit, pineapple, oranges with a floral and aggressive bitterness. Quite delicious.

Appearance: Cloudy with an orange juice color, the beer pours out with a one finger head; good retention and a smattering of lace

Smell: Pineapple, passionfruit, apricot and lime tones

Taste: Pineapple and apricot forward with passionfruit and lime adding a citrusy bitterness to the tropical fruit; while the juicy flavors linger throughout, there is a moderate amount of bitterness to offset

Mouthfeel: Medium to full body; creamy with moderate carbonation

Overall: The Simcoe hops here are the secret ingredient, bringing a nice complement to the Citra and Mosaic; with this beer New Anthem firmly establishes its place in the top echelon of North Carolina IPAs and would be in the national debate if they were located in a bigger population center

Can (12/21 release)

Cloudy orange with a dense creamy head that deposits spotty lacing on the walls of the glass. Aroma is dank and fruity hops...grapefruit, lime, pine needles, and mango. Creamy citrus flavor: grapefruit, mango, OJ, apricot. Fluffy, creamy feel with a nice dry finish to keep it drinkable. Good, as usual...

Can with no date on it poured into a bulb glass. Look is murky orange with yellow tints and an inch white head that fades rather quickly leaving spotted lacing behind. Smell is lovely with those tropical and citrus fruits mixed with that danky goodness. the taste followed with subtle pine in the back. The feel is soft and creamy coating the mouth with hop juice. Overall this DDH DIPA is exceptional and up there with the big dogs, Cheers.
