Prodigious head production and good retention; excellent lacing. Brew is cloudy, slightly pale yellow, and around a medium level of translucency.

Smells like a spice cabinet - that's a good thing! The hops are primarily a melange of parsley, oregano, and basil. There's clearly some light citrus behind, but this is so densely herbal and grassy, that's all I can smell. Spice cabinet or forest; take your pick.

Flavor follows. It's a lightly sweet, malty, and hoppy (without overt bitterness) walk through resinous and herbal tones. Really wonderful, and perhaps most importantly, different. People keep waiting for something new in the IPA field - something that isn't just a carbon copy or perhaps slight improvement on an existing franchise. This is truly something new.

I've had plenty of modern-hop brews with this kind of herbal edge. I've never had one feature them so prominently, and where citrus and tropical fruits are so far in the back. This is like a new, fresh take on the piney hop bombs of the early craft revolution.

Mix a pine-scented car freshener in oregano and make tea out of the resulting marriage. I don't know if I can describe it better than that. (Perhaps that means I'm fairly limited.)

Mouthfeel and balance are perfect for a DIPA: medium body, bordering on full; almost chewy but never syrupy; lively and active, but no significant carbonation sting; noticeable alcohol without heat. Moderately long finish, as well.

Is this my favorite beer? Not by a long shot. Is it really enjoyable? Absolutely. Is it an incredibly fresh take on the style, more in line with Tree House than anything else from the West Coast? No doubt.

Pours a moderately hazy gold, with a half finger of creamy white head that quickly settles

Smells of mango and pineapple, a bit of earthiness

Taste follows the nose, with some floral notes, and a bit yeasty. Something missing...kind of a strange finish that I'm struggling to put my finger on (no, not infected!)

Lightly carbonated, not much malt to support the hops.

Above average release...certainly not near the elites. I've preferred some of the other offshoot offerings

Many of the offshoot hoppy offerings have been misses, however this one is well done. Balanced hops, boozy yet approachable, makes the cart look even worse

16 oz can into a tulip

Copper-tan color, high opacity, an easy pour yields a half-inch head that quickly recedes.

Citrusy, tropical nose. Orange zest plays off notes of mango. There's a bit of an earthy, rindy funk as well; almost like the rind of a ripe cantaloupe.

Flavors follow a similar profile, although there's a bit more earthy bitterness than the nose portends. And there's definitely some funky melon in here, presumably from the Huell Melon hop. A little light in mouthfeel to taste juicy, but the sip closes with zesty, citrusy finish.

A tasty, unique IIPA. Combines aspects of both West and East Coast styles, with an interesting and unusual hop-profile.

Horse before the cart, at least in this science experiment. Both of them were good beers, not great, but good! Horse had a better aroma, feel and most importantly taste over cart. Cart was good though

Thanks to 2beerdogs for this one. 16oz can poured into 12oz tulip. Canned on 5/23/17. Poured a hazy, but still translucent, yellow color with about a half-inch of white head that had moderate retention and lacing.

A nice mix of hop aromas greet the nose, citrus and some spice, with a mild malt base. Pretty similar on the tongue, with a sharp tartness at the back. The grains are a bit more noticeable.

The body is smooth and even. Drinkability was very good, I could easily see draining a couple pints over the bar with no trouble. Overall, a very nice brew, that's worth your time if you get the chance.

i like it. not Treehouse, but good. i think the expectations were all over the place for this brewery to produce something 'different', hence the inconsistent reviews. well, i meant for other sites.... this is the first rating for this on this site.... which is a little sad.
