Relax (It’s Just a Hazy IPA)Relax (It’s Just a Hazy IPA)
Notes: Relax [it’s just a hazy IPA] embraces the new way to enjoy IPA - unfiltered, fresh and full of hop flavor and aromatics... without the bitterness to stand in the way of kicking back with a juicy beer. It features a combination of Citra, Centennial, Simcoe and Amarillo hops, imparting fruity, tropical and citrusy notes to complement the round, soft mouthfeel of a hazy IPA.

Small glass from draught @ Zeezicht, Breda. Pours an orance-juicy, cloudy yellow colour and a white-ish NEIPA head. Aroma's of juicy citrus and onion. Retronasal there doesn't seem to be much, just a little sour fruit. Flavour is moderate sweet, fruity. Medium bodied.Long finish with a hint of bitterness. Perhaps not so fresh?

A: hazy pale yellow & orange color. Quite matte. Fizzy 2 finger off-white rocky head

S: super tropical smelling. Zesty pineapple, mango, orange and lemon zest. Crackers, passionfruit and dragon fruit behind that. A touch of earthy dank hops as well in here. More pineapple at the end. So much juicy pineapple in the aroma

T: mango and strawberry upfront. Herbal sweet tea hops behind that with a hint of grapefruit. Sweet passionfruit and apricot behind that with a touch of grapefruit. Sweet lemon and orange juice as well. Doughy and biscuity backbone

M: fluffy medium mouthfeel with low carbonation

O: pretty solid IPA. Tropical and sweet

Milky golden pour with brownish hint - foamy off white head.
Aroma citrus, tangerine, pineapple, hint of dankness, slightly sweaty.
Bittersweet - citrus - orange, touch of orange peel, pineapple - perhaps just a touch of aspirin at finish.
Medium mouthfeel - at once creamy yet pushing to astringency and leaving a lingering bitter sense.
Very drinkable - really good but not clearly distinguishable from a lot of hazy IPAs. Thankfully i got a Palate Wrecker to go to for a bit a change.....

Poured from a 64oz growler into a Speiglau IPA glass.

Look is a hazy yellow with a thin white head.

Aroma is citrusy lemon with a little biscuit malt at the end.

Taste is a nice light citrusy hop.

Deliciously hoppy and drinkable.

This is an excellent hazy - was highly touted by one of the young salesmen at Stateline in Elkton. However, too pricey - at almost $4 for a 16-0z can. Will stay with Reckless Brewings' Illustrious Buddha, similar in taste/feel but more reasonable.

16 oz into stemless wine glass. Dated 4/12/19.
Look is nice golden yellow. Smell is nice sweet tropical with pineapple and mange. Taste follows. Feel is medium and creamy. Overall a verry good NE IPA, exactly what the style is. More complexity as it warms. Would drink again.

Poured from can into tulip, good 2 finger cream colored head, good retention and lacing. Opaque bright golden in the glass. Smells of ripe pineapple, grapefruit, slight vegetal and some underlying dankness. Taste is sweet malt, almost caramel like, followed by a good dose of pineapple that is quickly followed up by grapefruit and a grapefruit pith finish. Slight bitterness, most reminding me of grapefruit pith, as it also leaves a lingering impression on the palate. Soft on the mouth, smooth and creamy throughout, and the finish has a slight tartness to it. Good tropical flavors on the nose and taste, easy drinking, not cloying, no vegetation taste from the hops, good finishing bitterness, all the thinks that in my mind make a good NEIPA.

A: Hazy gold with rich white foam and sticky lacing.
N: Tropical notes, pineapple, mango, with a nice citrus hit.
T: Follows the nose, big tropical flavors of pineapple, mango, lemon, and grapefruit.
M: Medium feel, very creamy and smooth, low bitterness.
O: A really solid juice bomb, clean and drinkable.

Offshoot Beer Co. "Relax (It’s Just a Hazy IPA)"
1 Pint can, "CANNED ON 02/06/19 13:14" and sampled on 05/20/19

Notes via stream of consciousness: Great packaging design. It's a murky golden beneath a short head of white. The aroma is pungent and resinous, backed by fruity notes of pineapple, orange, lemon, grapefruit, juicy apple, and red berries. The flavor follows with more fruit and less resin, but also some additional pine. The malt is a lightly bready, sweet base that balances the bitterness leaving it to seem quite restrained until it comes through in the lingering finish. It's hard to call but it's more than 40 and less than 60. In the mouth it's medium bodied and effervescently zesty. Overall it's a nicely done "juicy" and hazy IPA.

Got it in a 4-pack at a local Specs, cans dated 3/21/19. Had never seen this brewery distributed here before.

Pretty good NE IPA. Hazy orangish yellow color with a nice initial head and good lacing. Nice citrus smell and taste, mostly orange. Some grapefruit and pineapple. I will buy it again.

Pours a very cloudy golden color with a thick foamy head. Head retention and lacing are both excellent. The aroma is tremendous. Fresh, juicy citrus with a touch of piney resin. Taste is the same, but there is more piney, resinous bitterness at the end. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. This is a very, very good beer.

Can. Murlky straw color with lasting head and a little lace. Papaya mango aroma with some citrus and raw dough. Fruity pineapple mango sweetness with some raw dough and medium grapefruit stone fruit finish. Fairly dry, which is nice. Medium and soft. Inoffensive for an NE IPA. Good.

Presentation: 16 oz. can with the canning date printed on the bottom. Served in a Willi Becher glass.

Appearance: The foamy, two finger head stays around for a long time and leaves behind a thin foam layer and a lot of thick, bubbly lacing in patches all over the glass. It's a murky, milky, pale yellow color.

Smell: It's a fruity, tropical scent with notes of grapefruit and lemon peels, pineapple and papaya.

Taste: It's a rich and filling malty, oaty and wheaty taste. It's balanced by some tropical fruit flavors of grapefruit, lemon, pineapple, and papaya.

Mouthfeel: It's thick, soft, creamy and quite crisp with medium high carbonation.

Overall: It's fruity and simple without too much going on. It doesn't stand out in any particular aspect but that's fine. It's just a well made, easy to drink beer.

Sweet orange aromatics on this one. Taste follows with orange citrus notes...very drinkable and crushable. It has a thin finish of slight citrus bitterness on the swallow.

A: Pours a milky murky pale bright yellow in color with moderate amounts of fine active visible carbonation rising along the edges of the glass and moderate pale golden yellow + straw yellow + pale orange colored highlights. The beer has a three finger tall dense sudsy foamy white head that reduces to a large patch of very thin film covering the entire surface of the beer and a medium thick ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Moderate to strong aromas of juicy tropical/mango, tropical/papaya, citrus/grapefruit, citrus/orange, and tropical/pineapple hops over the top of light to moderate aromas of biscuit + oat + wheat + honey malts with a light amount of honey sweetness.

T: Upfront there are light to moderate flavors of biscuit + oat + wheat + honey malts with a light amount of honey sweetness. That is followed by moderate to strong flavors of juicy tropical/mango, tropical/papaya, citrus/grapefruit, citrus/orange, and tropical/pineapple hops which imparts a light amount of bitterness which fades away almost instantly leaving lingering tropical + citrus hop flavors.

M: Light to medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Initially slightly crisp with a moderate amount of soft/fluffiness mid-body and a hint of dryness in the finish.

O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol and a pleasantly soft/fluffy mouthfeel. Enjoyable with a stronger tropical hop presence initially with the citrus hop presence increasing in intensity as the beer warms up.

16 oz. can.
Moderate pour yields an almost one inch egg shell head over a (you guessed it!) hazy body with some lacing. Head dissipates rather quickly, but comes back with a few swirls. Nose of tropical fruit (mostly pineapple), citrus (mostly orange), and well, that's about it. Taste doesn't quite live up to the nose with a lot of bitter aspects of the aromas, especially on the finish. A bit uneven, but still pretty tasty. Nice feel and overall, a solid try at the style. I'm looking forward to more from The Bruery's "Offshoot." Cheers!

Opaque, cloudy bright yellow with a small white head. Spotty lacing.
The aroma is intense amounts of yellow peach, ripe mango, and pineapple!
Tastes of ripe yellow peach, pineapple, mango, and a hint of honeydew melon and orange juice. A faint touch of grass and underlying green herbs. Soft, creamy, sugar cookie and vanilla malt backbone. Leans a little bit but sweet but finishes clean.
Creamy and soft mouthfeel, medium-plus-bodied, and moderately carbonated.
A fantastic hazy IPA! A total fruit smoothie!

Pours pale, hazy, and bright, with a rocky soda pop head that goes fairly quickly. Initial aroma pop from the can is nice mango, but it isn't all that pronounced once poured. From the glass, there is tropical and citrus notes, but I'd like to have more. Taste also falls into that "nice but needs more" category. Tropical, a little dank, quite minty, and somewhat juicy, but not quite enough of it. Not to the point I'd say it is watered down, but it just falls short of being really good. Overall, nice but not top tier.

Firm head, fantastic production and retention.

Sweet, fruity nose, balanced between citrus and tropical.

Like virtually every OffShoot IPA I’ve had, it’s brightly herbal on the palate. Pepper, mint, honey, mild dankness, pineapple, mango, tangerine.

A: The beer is very hazy light pale yellow in color. It poured with a quarter finger high bright white that quickly died down, leaving lots of specks of bubbles on the surface and a collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of mangos and papayas are present in the nose along with hints of pineapples.
T: The taste follows the smell and has lots of flavors of tropical fruits including mangos and papayas with hints of pineapples. No bitterness is perceptible.
M: It feels just about medium-bodied and very juicy on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This New England IPA is very juicy and is packed with lots of aromas and flavors of tropical fruits. I didn't really get any citrus until the beer started warming up and some flavors of oranges became noticeable..

Pours a hazy orange with fine, soapy foam.

Smell is juicy and tropical with soft notes of mango, pineapple and some vanilla.

Taste is much like the nose, with a soft bitterness and hop bite added. Very smooth and easy to drink.

Mouthfeel is medium and pillowy, well carbonated.

Overall, a great NE IPA, soft and pillowy and juicy as hell.

Pale, hazy orange in color with a fizzy finger and a half of white head. Aromas hit the nose with lots of pineapple with a back of orange and lemon zest. Taste is light with fresh orange huice and pineapple and mouth feel is very very light with a bit of sparkliness and a touch of orange pith feel. Finish is amazingly clean and this beer is very drinkable and finishes clean and crisp

Can. Definitely pours hazy. Fun artwork too. This can is about 3.5 weeks old so it isn’t necessarily a spring chicken (an utterly insane but true statement). Aroma and flavor are overall quite modest. I think that’s more of the brewer’s intention instead of the beer’s age. I’m not getting that noticeable aroma and flavor breakdown here. Just a mellow, hazy ass beer. Relax, it’s decent.
