Retreat [this is a hazy double IPA]

This hazy DIPA is brewed with a simple malt bill and hopped heavily with fruit-forward Mosaic, Cashmere and El Dorado. Seriously, nothin’ beats the heat, like Retreat.

16oz can poured into a tulip

A- pours a hazy orange color with a one-finger foamy white head that has good retention and leaves some nice lacing behind

S- a nice mix of herbal and tropical hops on the nose; grapefruit leads the way, along with mango, green melon, tangerine and an herbaceous mosaic note to close it out

T- citrusy hops up front gives notes of orange pith and grapefruit zest, mid-palate gives some tropical notes of mango, melon and pineapple. The finish gives more bitter zesty notes, citrusy linger

M- medium body with moderate carbonation leads to a creamy mouthfeel that continue into a smooth finish

O- not quite as juicy as the NE style IPA's from the east coast, still enjoyable and highly drinkable

16 oz can dated 4/5/2019

Hops: Mosaic, Cashmere, El Dorado

I thought this would be Relax's big brother (a beer I love) but not quite. Has an odd, almost boozy aroma. Taste is better. Pretty smooth for the ABV but not a beer I would seek out again. Too many other, better beers out there.

Sweet orange dankness on the nose! Taste follows with orange citrus bitter kick on the finish...lacking a little depth and smoothness, but outside of that, this is a good drinkable DIPA!
