Underwhelming. Go buy hazy little thing by Sierra Nevada on the shelf. It’s pretty much the same thing going on here. Not impressed.

Can poured into a Russian River Brewing Co pub glass

A: Pours super hazy golden amber with a creamy off white head that hangs around and leaves some thick lacing.

S: Juicy citrus with some tropical fruit dominate, a little grassy, biscuity malt, and caramel sweetness.

T: Citrus dominates, lots of orange and tangerine, some tropical fruit, mango, passion fruit, and apricot, biscuity malt, and caramel sweetness.

M: Medium body, moderate carbonation, soft on the palate.

O: It's tasty and super easy drinking for a DIPA, but I feel like it could use a little more complexity.

Pours an opaque yellow-straw with a finger of white foam. The final ounces of this beer do not impart any additional murkiness. Aroma is bright and cheery, hitting notes of mango, papaya, tangerine, orange, and biscuit malts. Despite the wide array of tropical fruits, the malts poke through nicely balancing it out. Flavor profile is bright mango, tangerine, papaya, and melon with a hint of biscuit and earthy malts behind. Melon's twist chases the tropical fruit notes well, and when combined with the malt presence at the finish, maintains balance in what would otherwise be a very sugary sweet taste. Mouth feel is smooth, and is high fiber juice-like, with a medium-thick consistency. Overall, splendid balance between hops and malts, combined with the fiber-thick juice feel makes lands this creation on par with famous NE IPA producers Treehouse and Trillium. The noticeable difference between this and a Trillium beer is that this Revision beer contains and maintains a little extra viscosity in each sip.

Served in a 12oz snifter from a 16oz can.

Another solid fruity hazy DIPA from Revision. Strong citrus & tropical fruit notes in the aroma and taste with a good bit of danky, resinous hops notes as well. Fruit peel & rind in the aroma as well. The more I sniff and drink, the more I love.

Feel is medium, good carbonation, low solid bitterness that really works well with the flavor profile.

Overall pretty much top notch like I expect from Revision.

Taster at BitterCreek. Another great looking beer, hazy golden with wispy head, tons of lacing. Aroma is equal parts fruit and hops of the dank variety. Taste brings citrus juiciness which quickly succumbs to the dank hops. Nice!

Poured from 16oz can into 20oz tulip glass. Canned on 3/08/18.

Look: Yellow in color, moderate haze but not overly murky. 1/4" white head formed, but dissipated rapidly. Minimal lacing on glass, but still present.

Smell: Citrus fruits up front, with some dankness on the nose. Orange, tangerine, grapefruit and lemon present on nose. Some passionfruit and pineapple as well. Slight pine aroma on the nose, but could be more of a "dank" smell if anything. Has an earthy and florally smell as well. Nice smelling.

Taste: Orange, tangerine, guava, and grapefruit. There is a bitterness to the beer, but I find it enjoyable.

Feel: Light-medium in body, but feels a bit thin. Not a deal breaker, though. Moderate carbonation, but not overly done. Relatively smooth though overall, with bitter finish.

Overall: Another enjoyable offering by Revision. This is a pretty damn good DIPA. A little more bitterness than in a typical NEIPA, but I am really enjoying it. Great job Revision, and as always, I am grateful to have had it. Cheers everyone!

Deep, murky yellow body. Pours with almost 2 fingers of head on a semi-aggressive pour. Great head retention and lacing. Nose is stone fruit, papaya, pineapple, and oranges. Taste follows the nose. This is an absolute juice bomb. Fantastic, style-defining feel, with medium body, creamy texture, medium carbonation, and no apparent abv. Also, this preserves really well; tastes almost exactly the same at 1 week and 3 months in the can. Great double NEIPA that checks all of the boxes.

L: nice Hazy NEipa. Good 2.5 finger head. Nice lace.

S: big Citra bomb. Nice aroma of the tropical fruits. Tangerine forward.

T: tangerine and orange front. Love the mosaic and Citra hops. Slight bitter taste on the back. Probably from another hop that I can’t name at this time.

F: smooth with bitter bite at end. Typical for style.

O: A good west coast beer done in the NE style. Though it is not on par with the greats from the east. Since we don’t get those out here except for a huge trade deficit, this will do nicely. Very happy with what revision is doing. Between them and Moonraker we here in Nor Cal are getting a decent supply of NEipa.

It sounds strange for even myself to say, but I would say this might be the best dipa that Revision makes. Why does it sound strange? Because Revision basically makes the same two beers with very slight variations. Let's get beyond the commercial tugjob referencing Bob Marley (soul shakedown party) and get down to business:

This is the cloudy NE ipa base, small 1/3" white head on the top of a hazy yellow. Aroma pops with the usual hop varieties: Mosaic and Citra. Could be some Amarillo thrown in there as well. Not much to say, it hits the tropical and citrus fruit notes well and predictably.

Taste leans more into the citrus territory than the others. Tangerine is there more than the other Revision beers. Still very similar though. Simcoe for bittering. Tons of late addition hops. Soft body, around 40 ibu. Flaked oats. Carbonation is on point. These are all very similar, but I like this one slightly more than most of the other canned offerings. We'll see what happens if they ever decide to can up the triple IPAs like Moonraker does.

Canned 11/16/17

Appearance - Pours hazy and golden orange with a white, finger width head. Fair retention, resulting in a thin, broken layer of suds. A few broken lines and some small spotting for lace.

Smell - Juicy orange with a hint of floral character.

Taste - Follows the nose. Orange is prominent with a lesser floral quality. Distant spice and pine dank. Faint breadiness. Juicy finish with a hit of pith bitterness.

Mouthfeel - Light-to-medium in body with slightly bitey carbonation. Slick, smooth drinker with a slightly dry finish.

Overall - It's good, but a bit simplistic. Not much outside that main orange flavor. This won't go down as particularly memorable for me.

Thanks, Chad!

Got this as part of a nice haul from Chad on his latest work trip to San Diego. Revision only makes good beer so I was super excited to get this. Liked the first hazy one I tried from them (Disco Ninja - 4.17) and was hoping this one would be nearly as good. The description I found read, “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of dank, I will fear no haze, for hops art with me. Thy flavor and thy aroma, they comfort me. A vision in the distance; an orange grove? A hop farm? It sure smells good. Saints and sinners all are welcome to this soul shakedown party.” No mention of the hops. Hopefully I can pick them out.

Poured a gold hazy color with one finger of white fizzy head. Slow moving bubbles coming up from the bottom of the glass. Outstanding spotty lacing. Decent retention. (Sight - 3.75)

Smelled pretty terrific from the jump. If I had to guess the hops I’d say Citra, Amarillo, Simcoe and Mosaic. Man, wishful maybe but those are my top four (not in order). Also got orange blossom, pineapple, tangerine, floral, guava, melon, cantaloupe, mango and some resin. Just as good out of the nose as the glass. (Smell - 4.50)

Tasted almost as good. So juicy. Got those four hops again, in order Simcoe, Mosaic, Citra and Amarillo. Also orange blossom, pineapple, tangerine, guava, mango, cantaloupe, melon and floral. (Taste - 4.25)

Medium body. Oily texture. Average carbonation. Long, juicy finish. (Feel - 4.50)

This was an excellent New England Style beer and I may have underrated it overall. (Overall - 4.25)
