Notes: An internal warrior goddess, a kind of cosmic, karmic super-heroine, says don't mess with the good, else you're gonna get whupped. Spiritual Gangster is easy drinking with hops that lend to ripe tangerine-like notes and aromas with a hint of pine and a whirl of milk sugar.

Packaged on September 30th, consumed on December 5th, 2019. Poured from a tall-boy can into my Bruery tulip.

Turbid lemon chiffon body with a low stand of ivory up top. Sandy lacing; decent retention.

Mandarin zest, marijuana, berry, and mint in the nose. Mild juiciness, low dank/herbal notes - sweet and inviting.

Lemon-kissed cream, evergreen, and tangerine emerge from the mild malt profile. Lactose adds some roundness but blunts the already mild bitterness. Medium, vaguely herbal finish with a lasting citrus sweetness.

Medium-light bodied, creamy-not-quite-chalky, with a zesty element. Good carbonation.

Easy drinking, perhaps too much so - hops present well, but I would prefer a bit more bitterness for balance (yes, even for the style).

I believe Revision came out with this beer around Burning Man time. Its basically the same as about 50 of their other beers, just with a different label slapped on it for marketing purposes related to Burning Man travelers and locals.

Pours a hazy yellow that looks just like a large portion of the Revision portfolio, 1/2" white head. Aroma of sweeter citrus. Tangerine, kumquat.

Taste is similar to a lot of Revision beers too. Its juicy, massively hopped, moderate hop acidity and burn. Its enjoyable, and has less burn than their double ipas. Slight lactose addition is unnecessary. Might be a better beer with a little more natural bitterness and less sugar. Mouth feel is still good despite minimal impressions of barley, but generally not a lactose guy, makes this beer real similar to their snarf snarf beer, another lactose ipa. Its restrained usage so its not the end of the world.

At the end of the day, its still a good beer, even if its pretty much the same recipe as so many other beers from the same brewery.

Tasted in a snifter from draft at Consume on November 24, 2019. Easy drinker with hops that give ripe tangerine notes and aromas. There is a hint of pine and slightly sweet milk sugar.

Can poured into a Russian River Brewing Co pub glass

A: Pours hazy golden yellow with a frothy off white head that settles to a firm layer and laces nicely.

S: Fresh citrus, a touch of tropical fruit, a bit of lactose, hint of vanilla, a little pine, biscuity malt, and light caramel sweetness.

T: Juicy citrus, big orange/tangerine, a little lemon lime and grapefruit, light tropical fruit, apricot, pineapple, and papaya, a touch of pine, slightly floral, biscuity malt, and caramel sweetness.

M: A bit on the lighter side of medium body, moderate carbonation, reasonably soft on the palate

O: Very enjoyable bright NEIPA.

Pale gold with a short dense head that retreats quickly but leaves a bit of lacing. Smells mainly of grapefruit and pine with some malty sweetness. Lightly sweet and fruity with a little spiciness and a bitter, piney finish.

On tap in Loomis CA - pours a medium orange/gold with minimal head leaving a small ring of bubbly lacing. Nose is lots of citrus and a bit of resiny pine . Taste follows with a touch of sweetness and a bit of hop bite. Finishes on the smooth side with a lingering mild bitterness. Well done.

Nice East Coast IPA with the bonus of lactose. Picked up a few 16oz cans from the cooler at the brewery in Sparks NV while drinking one off of their tap. Both were rather good. Lots of citrus and a touch of Christmas tree in the nose, minimal bitterness with a well balanced mouthfeel. Like most Hazys the malt is riding in the back of the bus while the late addition and dry hopped hops are driving it. Minimal bitterness. The milk sugar is a nice addition for mouthfeel, and a nice slight vanilla hint. Just be sure to warn your buddies about the lactose, we found one that was unpleasantly surprised by its presence.....
