Beers were really good. Small list but I get this brewery is constantly growing. Tried all 4 beers available, and bought a 4-pack to go of 2 of them, would have been 3, but that beer sold out a few people ahead of me. Service was solid as well.

Small brewery sharing a building with a few others across the street from Allagash. Service out of a garage bay to a few picnic tables in the parking lot. 8 beers on tap, I had the Kineo which was solid.

Small, sterile concrete and steel taproom with maybe 6 on tap and cans to go. Strangely there are no prices posted for draft pours. Odd, maybe prices vary on if you're cool enough or not? No food or table service, just counter service at the taps. Multiple visits I've experienced somewhat friendly staff and also quite unfriendly. Oh and they definitely will let you know when it's time to GTFO.

Guess I never got around to reviewing this place. The vibe is what it is, it's in the back of an industrial complex but there are a bunch of outdoor seating and a few barrels to stand around/sit at inside. 6-8 beers on tap with a good rotating selection, not just hops upon hops. Plus they sold bottles of hot sauce, albeit a not that good beer based hot sauce that just tasted like spicy dregs. Still, it was a unique offering. Great to see a place offering a legit pilsner and a blueberry kettle sour that was quite good. I haven't had an issue with service and each time I've been the people were able to answer questions and were attentive. Their hoppy stuff is okay but the non hoppy offerings are what really sets them apart. A place I make sure to hit up every time when I'm in the area.

Terrific space in Portland’s brewery district. Very industrial but also homey and comfortable. Prices are reasonable and selection is excellent. Not one to skip!

Visited in mid November 2018 and loved the place and the beer, especially Flume and #1 and #5. Hoppy and delicious with taste very near Trillium. First visit was a Friday night and we met many nice people and they welcomed our two dogs inside. Julia was very friendly and efficient in pouring and recommending brews. Next night they had some music playing and opened up the other side of the brewery to allow for more space, great vibe and loving the beers.

Aug 2018...another stop on the Portland industrial park beer tour. Quieter on this side away from the Allagash buzz but well worth your visit. Open air seating area with food truck bites just a few steps away. Friendly service offers about 8 beers on tap - IPA heavy, but good variety in between. Some cans and growlers to go. Swing by.

Battery Steele has some of the best beer in Portland. One industrial is awesome and they're my favorite place to stop at when they're open.
While I always check their twitter / instagram they have been closed on several occasions and never updated their website or social media. They also will have special releases but not share any details (ie: allotment) prior. If they want to survive the craft beer explosion they're going to have to put more of an effort in. It seems right now they're just riding the tide of being a brewery in Portland.

There IS no vibe - 'Industrial Way' pretty much says it all. Fortunately most of the asshole hipsters were next door at Austin Street so I was able to walk in, get my beer and scoot without getting attitude all over my clean clothes. Genuinely nice pair of guys pulling the taps, friendly, polite and efficient. Not much in the way of selection but hopefully that will change with time.

Nice little place next to Austin Street Brewing. Limited # of taps pouring,m but they have their own canning line already. Mostly IPAs and Double IPASs they had a stout on tap while I was there but I did not try it. So far out of the IPAs I have had they are making some very nice stuff. Place is small, but nice.

I have only tried one of the beers from Battery Steele (Flume), which was a solid IPA. However, the "brewery" experience was a little weird. We bought cans out of the back of an industrial park (behind Foundation and Allagash) so it was really hard to find. Additionally, the guy that was selling everyone cans was a bit of a dick. I don't know if it was because it was 10am on Saturday, but they really need to work on their people skills - thus the poor scores for service and vibe. It is a shame because their beer has a shot to rival players like Bissell Bros. in the area. Get better guys. stop being assholes.
