Driving to Holiday World, we discovered this quaint little brewery.
Located next to the monastery to the Sisters of Saint Benedict. Beautiful setting but feels like an afterthought to the monastery. Definitely something that got established much later just to get some extra (money) attention. The brewery building is of modern construction and looks nothing like the monastery. With beer names like Dark Souls, Raising Lazarus and Sister Mary Rose they are leaning heavily on the church theme. The slogan is "Pray, Work, Brew".
Taproom seats about 30 people with another three tables in the hallway, for the ones with children under 21. Six beers on tap and a food menu with the usual appetizers but best pizza around and wings!
There was no table service, had to order at the bar. We just had appetizers but the pizza I saw looked very good.
I am not quite sure if I should recommend the trip there. If you are going to Holiday World anyway, sure, stop in just like we did. The Way of the Cross nearby was somewhat more exiting than the brewery...
