Notes:
Huguenots may have originated the style as they traveled through France to Flanders, having first mentioned it in the 1600s. Later, in 1809, Napoleon and his troops identified Berliner Weisse as the "Champagne of the North". He requested the beer be served with syrup to cut its extreme level of acidity. Our interpretation is a slightly softer, more mellow version of the "Berliner Weisse" style with a beautiful balance of tartness, fruitness, and sweetness.

Extremely pale and clear with moderate white head. Smells tart and tangy. A light, refreshing taste, just a little on the mouth-puckering side. Delightful.

Pours a cloudy yellow color with a white head. Lightly funky on the nose. Popcorn, grass, lactobacillus, and some lemon. A bit of lemon peel, wheat bread, and hints of sweet malt. The flavor is quite crisp, dry, and tart. Lots of lactic acidity, lemon, and lemon peel. Some straw, a touch of unripe strawberry, grass, and a light malt sweetness with a definite wheat and popcorn character.

One of the most foul looking brews I've ever seen. Flat, no head, no bubbles, and the color of urine.
Lemon, Bready, crystal malt. not sweet. tartness
Bitter, dry, tart, lemony, bready, light carbonation, intriguing sweetness, lingering "off flavored" dry after taste, yeasty.
Flavor is much better than appearance, thank goodness.. It's a decent BWeiss, but no where near the best or top. Recommended, but at $5/12oz...think twice.

Bottle (2012?)
The Bruery Provisions
Orange, CA
Clear yellow with a small (for the style) bone-white head. This doesn't leave much stick down the glass. Average.
The nose is dominated by wheat, a bit of lemon, and some mild acidic sourness.
The flavor too has more pronounced wheat character than I've experienced in any other beer. There's a mild lemon, mild grape, and mild acidic sourness as well. Drinkable.
Light to medium bodied with moderate to high carbonation. Appropriate.
Decent enough, and incredibly drinkable, though the wheat flavors dominate and I was wishing for more lemon/apple/sour flavors. Simple.

Pours very pale clear yellow with a big foamy head that reduces to a ring. No lace.
Some tart lemon, yeast, wheat, and some odd fruit in the nose.
Lemons, seltzer water, and grapes, some watery/funky pineapple juice. Nice fruit and lean slightly salty balance. Tart lemon with sweet wheat at the very end as the palate clears. Very easy drinking.
Light and fizzy and palate clearing.
A decent brew, with parts I really like and a few things missing. Still, I would have this again.

Berliner Style Weisse has a thick, white, fizzy head, an initially clear, pale, straw appearance, with some lazy bubbles, that turns into a gray-lemon-yellow opaque number, once the caked sediment is swished loose and poured in. Lacing is practically non-existent. The aroma is of sweet, fruity, citrus wedding cake icing and cream. Taste is of tart Halloween semi-soft candy, cream, and sourdough bagel. Mouthfeel is light to medium, and Berliner Style Weisse finishes crisp and lemony.

Bottle from West Lakeview in Chicago. Served in a berliner bowl.
Pours a moderate-light golden color with a short white head and not too much in the way of lacing. The nose carries some bready malt and a very faint acidity. Not much going on. The flavor has a light breadiness and no real acidity. Perhaps a touch if I imagine it. This really does not get into the style. Light body and crisp carbonation; acidity is near negligible. Boring and way too plain.

This one pours a light neon yellow, with a thick two and a half finger white head.
Nose is citrusy, wheaty and has a nice level of tartness that gets the taste buds wet.
At first this beer is full of bready malts. Almost a wet maltiness like if the malts were slightly stale. Nice light wheatiness and a satisfying level of sour and tartness in this one. This beer is super light in the mouth and one heck of a session beer.
A really good beer which is a nice satisfying session funk.
