A- Hazy gold. Definitely chill haze, this was clear before cooled. Small white head that quickly dissipates to a small foam cover and ring.

A- Sweet fruity malt aroma. Apple and pear.

T- A sweet malt, notes of apple. Slightly bittered finishes very crisp.

M- Medium body with moderate-high carbonation. A bit of yeast suspension giving a heavier mouthfeel impression.

D- It's great that Cooper's is keeping the Sparkling Ale style alive. A refreshing and enjoyable session beer. BMC buddies won't mind it either!

An afternoon of AUS beers continued at my aunt's house and ain't that the truth!

From the bottle: "Real Aussie Ale"; "Brewed in Australia"; "No Additives-No Preservatives-Australian Made-Australian Owned"; "Best After [!] 19 Nov 10"; "Coopers Ales and Stout are brewed using the centuries old top fermentation method and natural bottle conditioning, resulting in a characteristic fine sediment forming on the base of the bottle. This sediment is completely natural and can be gently mixed before drinking or poured carefully leaving the sediment in the bottle."

I applaud their willingness to bottle-condition their beers, but it was slightly unexpected and I tilted the bottle to get a better look at the label (I need (at least) bifocals) and that movement stirred things up briefly, settling as I wrote.

I went with a gentle pour to start, leaving maybe 1/2 of the liquid in the bottle and causing no more than 1/4 finger of bone-white head to form. Color was an oh-so-slightly hazy golden yellow, but I was unsure that my pour could have been any more gentle. Nose had an interesting spring-like flowery/perfume smell and my aunt said apricots. Mouthfeel was medium with really tight scrubbing bubbles on the tongue. Taste had a yeasty mustiness initially, followed by that same flowery/perfume taste. Finish was semi-dry and I still felt like I was tasting essence of perfume.

Post-agitation, I had a much different beer. The head was now denser and had taken on a French Vanilla color along with specks of yeast that resembled a dusting of cinnamon. Nose was now quite musty and I was now willing to agree with my aunt on the apricot odor. Mouthfeel was medium, but the taste was much more tart than before. Finish was bone-dry, Zephyr winds blowing across the Sahara Desert dry, so dry that I needed a drink of water.

Bottom line: decide which you prefer before pouring OR slowly decant half of the bottle's contents and then decide if you want a totally different taste sensation.

BAD 1/26/14. Pours a hazy amber. Normal head volume, lacing and retention.

Nice light fruit (pear, lemon, apple) notes coupled with yeast over biscuit.

Light medium body with a smooth texture that has creamy notes. Superb carbonation with a nice effervescent burst from the middle on and a nice prickly finish.

The outstanding flavor profile is reasonably intense, complex and very well balanced. It begins with a blend of fruit flavor that flows into a mild herbal bitterness in the middle. As the bitterness begins to fade, biscuit rises to balance along with a distinct plum flavor. The finish is a bit crisp and rather clean. A light herbal hop flavored bitterness lingers.

Drunk cool from the fridge, this beer combines a good balance of bitterness and bubbles to make it an outstanding feature beer suited to South Australia's hot dry summer climate. The afore mentioned characteristics balance the full flavours making it a tempting beer for 'sessioning' but its high alcohol content can catch thirsty imbibers out easily.

Pours a muddy golden color with plenty of floaters as I decided to swirl the bottle before I poured the last 2 ozs. The head is white and kind of flat, no lacing detected. The smell is very faint, a pick up a hint of granny apple. The taste is a little grainy, a slight grassy hop taste in the backend to add some bitterness. The feel is light and well carbonated, perhaps a bit too carbonated as it seems to kills some of the taste. A very drinkable brew and for whatever reason I like it more than my review would tell. Not sure about the EPA classification but whatever. When at Outback this is the beer to get.

Pours a hazed gold. No head off a gentle pour. Nose is grainy and earthy - almost dirty. Flavor is fruity and smooth. Biting bitter tone. Feel has a biting carbonation. Liquid is typical. This is an okay at best beer. There's nothing that stands out about it. Best served damn cold.

Finally managed to pour this one and forego MOST of the yeast, so I figured I'd review this one again. I will say this came from the same six pack. Murky yellow body with almost no head to it. Smells kind of malty with some skunk maybe, but I won't jump to conclusions. Somewhat sweet with citrus hints, but skunky. Better than it was with the yeast, but would be even better if the skunk quality wasn't there... It's a shame since I couldn't buy this by the bottle, and the stout these guys make is exquisite. I hate to give such a mediocre rating, but this was the beer I had in front of me, I'm affraid.

A: Apricot color with a half inch of head. Very tight lasting lace.
S: light, sweet, and flowery.
T&M: Light and crisp, with a slight dryness middle way through and stays toward the end. A bit hoppy but very nice indeed.
D: Drinkable in the 1-6 range.

A: The beer is hazy dark golden yellow in color and has a moderate amount of visible carbonation along with lots of small particles floating in suspension. It poured with a quarter-finger high off white head that has good retention properties and consistently left a thin layer of bubbles covering the surface.
S: There are light aromas of pale malts and yeast in the nose.
T: Similar to the smell, the taste has flavors of pale malts and yeast. Only some hints of bitterness are noticeable.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is very sessionable—it’s not particularly flavorful but it sure goes down very easily.

I tried this one at Outback Steakhouse. I was a little wary after trying the twin bombs James Boag's Premium Lager and Tooheys New Draught. I was pleasently surprised. Poured a fine bubbley gold reminiscent of Champagne. Smelled of nice sweet, fruity malts. Tasted a hint of apple and other fruits. Very quaffable.

I drank this when I was a backpacker working out in the Kimberley. In 45°c+ heat a cold beer never tasted so good, but at 5.8% the 'Coopers red' was a bit much.

S: Like the Coopers Green it smells more like a Belgian pale ale than anything else. Slightly vinous and yeasty with a hint of banana, and, er… a touch of vommit.

T: Completely dry and pilsner like. There's some cherry/almonds in the finish and citrus fruit in the aftertaste. Mouthfeel is sparkly.

O: Refreshing if anything.

Crisp, soft malt really jumps out at me. Bright fruit.

Medium straw / honey color with some crazy particulate suspension – it looks pretty cool. Little head.

Light, toasty caramel sweetness and malt. Crisp, solid body. Fruit splashes.

The particulate is sticking to my throat; it may be psychosomatic, but it is unexpectedly unpleasant. Guess I’m babied by filtration. I’ll try not to hold a grudge since Coopers is all about sediment.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a standard pint.

A: Opaque, yellow, golden color. Pours a half finger, bubbly, white head. Quickly dissipates, but leaves a blanket of froth on the surface. Carbonation continues to rise throughout, and little floaties seem to take up residence, too. A little beer ring lacing clings to the sides of the glass.

S: Freshly cut lawn, a little lemon citrus, some Italian spice, and a hearty malty undertone.

T: A little malty, more bitter, and hoppy. The lemon and spice take a back role.

M: A little carbonated, but heavy and robust. Dry hoppy finish continues to linger.

D: Good everyday pounding or sipping brew.

Solid atmosphere. Really nice appearance, great full nose. Flavor is not complex, but has a really solid combination of tones. Overall, this is a really good quaff.

Poured into a pint glass. Hazy golden with a .5 finger head.

Smell is citrus with a little bit of grapes/wine aromas. The taste is pretty bland actually. Except for just the tiniest hint of ctirus, there isn't much hop presence at all. There is a touch earthy yeastiness on the finish.

Very carbonated and dry. I could see this being something I might want to drink a couple of on a hot summer day, but there really isn't much flavor going on at all, and I'd probably buy something else instead.
