L: Hazy, orange-gold. Thin white head. It's a sparkling ale so plenty of carbonation visible. Chose to leave sediment in the bottle.

S: Not much evident by way of smell. Some off-citrus hop.

T: Good level of bitterness. Malts are very light. Grassy hops are more prominent but far from confrontational.

F: Light/medium body. Some carbonation spritz which is very pleasant. A little tart. Quite refreshing.

O: Pleasant enough, but not exceptional.

BAD 1/26/14. Pours a hazy amber. Normal head volume, lacing and retention.

Nice light fruit (pear, lemon, apple) notes coupled with yeast over biscuit.

Light medium body with a smooth texture that has creamy notes. Superb carbonation with a nice effervescent burst from the middle on and a nice prickly finish.

The outstanding flavor profile is reasonably intense, complex and very well balanced. It begins with a blend of fruit flavor that flows into a mild herbal bitterness in the middle. As the bitterness begins to fade, biscuit rises to balance along with a distinct plum flavor. The finish is a bit crisp and rather clean. A light herbal hop flavored bitterness lingers.

One of the three or four Aussie beers that I can get (not including Foster's, which is not even Australian!!!!!)

Because of the mid range price point in S.E. Asia, this is one of my favorite old standbys. Sometimes think I get a fresher bottle or something, because there are times when it seems to taste damn near stellar. I hope someday Thailand catches on to the importance of refridgeration for most beers but until then we have to take our chances here with most beer we fork out plenty for because of the high taxation on import alcohol.

But all that is offtopic and my point is, this is a beer well worth trying if you haven't before. If you want something run of the mill to drink but still pretty nice and want to save a little bit, perhaps for a weekend craft beer splash out, then this beer is your man. All that despite it being a bit too gassy, at least for my tastes.

Poured unclear copper color with a thin white head. Minerally, earthy notes, mild fruitiness in aroma. Flavor has yeast, red berries, earthy notes. Lots of sediment. Belgian yeasty notes in finish.

375 ml bottle into pint glass, best after 4/21/2014. Pours moderately hazy/cloudy deep golden color with a 1-2 finger dense off white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of lemon, apple, pear, cracker, biscuit, light honey, herbal, grass, pepper, and herbal/yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with good balance of pale malt, fruity yeast, and earthy hop notes; with good strength. Taste of lemon, apple, pear, cracker, biscuit, light honey, herbal, grass, pepper, and herbal/yeast earthiness. Fair amount of earthy herbal/peppery bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, pear, apple, cracker, biscuit, light honey, herbal, grass, pepper, and herbal/yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice robustness and balance of pale malt, fruity yeast, and earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, crisp, and lightly creamy/bready/sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a damn nice English pale ale style. All around great robustness and balance of pale malt, fruity yeast, and earthy hop flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Poured from 12.7 oz bottle into schooner glass. Appearance: a 1" white head drops quickly with some light lacing left behind. Color is deep golden with plenty of sediment from bottle conditioning. Lots of streaming carbonation. Aroma: floral and some citrus hops are dominate, with some biscuit and cracker. Mouthfeel: fluffy and frothy with a mostly wet finish. Flavor: toffee, butterscotch, caramel, biscuit, with plenty of hop balance in the background. Overall: very well done. Enjoyed this brew.

An underrated and priceworthy ale which has a good mix between hops and malt.
