Huge head lasts and lasts on this black beer. The aroma is roasted malt and is very light. The flavor is roasted and chocolate. The body is full, but it is missing any real oatmeal aromas, flavors, and the mealy texture that oatmeal brings to a beer. The finish is dry and roasty. The drinkability is average.

I liked this beer, but in terms of an Oatmeal Stout, the oatmeal should have stood out more.

Poured from the nitro tap an opaque black with a cascading mocha colored head that became creamy in texture.Soft aromas of roasted grain and milk chocolate but very subtle. This may be the thinnest stout of any kind I have had like water,no creamy texture at all very odd with the flavors going on.French roast coffee and malted milk flavors with drying almost earthy finish. If it wasnt for such a watery feel going down this would be a decent stout, lackluster the way it is.

Dark and opaque in appearance. THICK tan head that makes a decent effort to lace the glass. Hints of roasted nuts and toffee in the nose, though I did detect a slight sour odor as well. Uh-oh. Taste consists of minimal amounts of roasted nuts, chocolate, and toffee. Unfortunately, the sour flavor is present as well. Nothing overpowering that would spoil the flavor completely, but it was there. Surprisingly smooth and creamy mouthfeel, but it was tough to finish due to a noticeable sour aftertaste. I'd be curious to try this again from a new batch.

Appearance was typical of a stout, with a nice foamy, creamy head that lasted and left minimal lacing. There was really no aroma involved at all. No coffee, chocolate, oatmeal, or anything otherwise. Would like to have atleast some notes of either coffee or chocolate or in this case, oatmeal. A bitter and sour foretaste. There were nice hints of coffee in background with no hops. Mouthfeel was a bit thin for a stout, but ok overall. Not a very drinkable beer as far as stouts go. I may try again to get a different impression but I wasnt impressed with this first taste.
