Thanks to (good trader’s name redacted) for this 16 oz. can of hops, from a brewery that’s new to me. Decanted while watching the Vikings flail to a 3-0 Q3 deficit.

The juiciest looking IPA ever – I literally can’t see through the damn stuff. Is that good? The nose is citrus, wildflower honey, high alpine meadow, cane sugar. Sweet.

Expanding Symmetry comes from the wrong side of the tracks: sickeningly sweet. Mild citrus, touch of pineapple, just a ghost of bitterness isn’t nearly enough to stand up to the gobs of dull white sugar overwhelming my palate. Thick creamy, should be given out in one ounce samples.

I’ve run into a handful of these “NE IPAs” over the past year that look like one, smell like one, & seem like they’ve just been bathed in cheap, basic sugar. Two ounces to broke. Terrible beer.

16oz can, PKG DATE 10/09/18. Murky, opaque pineapple juice colored body with a thick creamy ivory head that slowly fades. Huge juicy tropical fruit hop aroma of pineapple, passion fruit, grapefruit, and guava. Flavor is similar to aroma with notes of pineapple, guava, grapefruit, passion fruit, piney mango, and grassy hops. Full & creamy body, tart resinous bitterness builds on the palate in lingers past the finish. Really good NEIPA! Definitely worth the try if you see it!

16oz can, dated 10.09.18, poured into a 14oz snifter glass.

The beer pours a super turbid golden color with orange and honey hues and a foamy white head, about a finger and a half tall with good retention and yields sticky swatches of lacing. The aroma is wonderful, very fragrant and floral, lots of green and grassy hops with a crazy floral bouquet and soft peach and mango and soft sweet grain. The flavors are excellent, bursting with tropical fruit juice, lots of mango and pineapple, orange juice and a ton of floral character with dank grassiness, very green and raw hops riding a backbone of pale dough and sweet yeast. The mouthfeel is very good, medium body that is coating and very creamy with a hearty texture and a dry but creamy finish.

Verdict: A fantastic hazy IPA from Saint Errant. My first beer from them and boy does it deliver. Juicy, tangy, super floral and bright with great balance and an excellent bitter finish. Great NEIPA.

Poured super opaque and hazy orangy yellow, with a finger of white foam. The smell was upfront in the tropical fruit complexion, especially guava, mango, and melon. Has floral and hops to support. Taste is watered down in comparison, with the hops barely around at all. The fruits are not as vibrant, and really the taste gives way to an overly sweet finish, disappointing. Body is thin, even for a hazy, but the creamy feel is inviting. Has great aspects, but needs refinement.

16 oz canned 10 days ago
Poured hazy dull orange with an unimpressive head.
Has a nice citrus note, pine, some grapefruit, juicy.
Bitter kick, balanced finish.
Medium mouthfeel, thick and creamy, chewy. Had real nice textures.

Bottled some time around 9/13/17 according to Facebook.

Appearance: Under the light it looks like a darker shade of orange juice. Very hazy; unable to see through the glass. Well carbonated producing about 2 fingers of head with a moderate pour in a teku glass. Looks amazing 4.5

Smell: Getting subtle tropical fruit scents. Passion fruits and oranges. Ton of citra hops. Smells great but compared to something like King Sue the smells are more subdued. 4.25

Taste: Straight Juice Bomb! Ton of citrus flavor to start. Citra, Simcoe, and Vic Secret are the hops. Sweet finish with a tiny bitter bite at the end. Dank pineapple aftertaste. Awesome!! 4.5

Mouthfeel: Feel is spot on for the DDH style. Thick, creamy mouthfeel. I feel like they nailed the carbonation. Slightly chalky finish but not bad. 4.5

Overall: 4.45 Awesome DDH IPA! Ton of great hop flavor with the look and mouthfeel to match. I haven't had many Saint Errant brews but I will be on the look out from now on.
