Very Good
Notes: Gridlock is a debut Hazy IPA offering a tropical traffic jam of flavor, the byproduct of heavy whirlpool additions of Amarillo and Citra. Flaked oats headline a multifaceted malt bill engineered to produce a smooth, full-bodied brew — bumper-to-bumper deliciousness.

Malts: Pilsner, Pale Wheat Malt, Flaked Oats, Carafoam

Hops: Amarillo, Citra

This one pours a fairly hazy golden yellow color, with a small head, and lots of alcing.

This smells like floral bitterness, orange juice, pineapple, and piney hops.

This is solid stuff - these guys were off of my radar until now, but clearly I need to keep an eye out. Amarillo and Citra is a combo I always get down with, as there's sweet citrusy orange, piney and floral bitterness, grapefruit peel, and sweet pineapple.

This is light bodied, clean, and crisp, with a good drinkability to it.

This is a solid beer and a nice pick. I'll have to find some more beers from these guys - it feels like a new brewery opens in NYC every 20 minutes or so.

Pours a hazy orange color with a large well retaining frothy head.

The aroma is rife with bursts of fruity hops, citrus, tropical fruit and berries. There are notes of orange, tangerine, pineapple, banana and berry.

Medium bodied, smooth and with a soft mouthfeel. This mouthfeel is complimented by a relatively gentle carbonation. The taste is hops forward and juicy with notes of orange, tangerine, grapefruit pith, tangerine, pineapple, mango and peach. Yet, there is a nice amount of piny and grassy hops that add a bit of spice and some balancing and easy going bitterness. The pine forward bitterness adds a nice prickle to counteract the creamy softness of the oats and malts. The finish is dry and with notes of citrus pith and sharp pine.

This is just what I needed. At the moment, my palate being over saturated with “milkshake IPAs” and “pastry stouts”, it was nice to dig in to an IPA that despite being hazy and juicy, still has some nice bitterness to it.

Look: Pours a pale straw yellow color with a two finger eggshell white head. Great lacing and head retention.

Aroma: Dried grapefruit peel. Apricot, some bitter lemon rind. Mild peach.

Taste: Dry. Upfront lots of yellow grapefruit and bitter lemon skins. Transitions into a gentle orange candy and sugary wheat flavor mid way through. Ends on notes of white pepper and mild floral soapiness.

Feel: In my opinion its a little heavy for a 6.5%er - not that that means it isn't good. It's thick; slightly too rich on the mouthfeel for my taste, but not overtly viscous and syrupy.

Overall: Super awesome beer. Quite rich, with a bitter tropical fruit backbone supported by hints of wheat. I love the can art as well.

16 oz. can.
Canned 10/14/19.
Moderate pour yields an over one inch white head with big bubbles over a hazy golden body and little lacing with the head dissipating down to a ring after a few minutes. Nose of sweet citrus and a bit of tropical fruit. Taste mirrors nose somewhat with mostly orange and grapefruit with a citrus pith bitterness on the finish. Nice feel and overall, a pretty solid IPA from Brooklyn.

I've poured a few of these and every one gets a huge head so I can only pour about half the can into the pint glass. The head is big and fluffy and sticks around for a while. The color of the beer is a hazy, translucent golden yellow.

Smell is bright, lemony and grassy with a little bit of spice in the background.

Taste follows the smell with bright, tart citrus flavors of lemon and pine. There's definitely a decent amount of pine flavor. It's not super complex but it has big flavors and its quite easy to drink.

Mouthfeel is not necessarily light but also not heavy. The carbonation is really nice and enhances the bright, zippy flavor of the hops.

It's a pretty nice beer. Not a world-class IPA by any means but a pretty solid beer. I'll happily sip this on a summer afternoon.

Nice enough looking, maybe missing some vibrancy as this is very straw hued. Seemingly hyper carbonated on the pour with a profusion of bubbles. This settled down quickly. Fruity nose that's quite enticing. Sliced pineapple in syrup comes to mind. The palate doesn't quite live up to that. There's an astringency to the bitterness rather than complementary bitter notes which prevents me from clearly identifying more than a bit of sweet tropical fruit. Where's the haze too? I get that hazy IPAs are trending like mad but there ought to be at least a hint of it. Finishes fine but lingering astringency.

Served in a tulip from a 64 Oz growler.

Appearance: pours a pale hazy yellow color with medium bubbles to the body. White head rising maybe half a finger's length off the body.

Smell: Very very light floral aroma which doesn't seem super appetizing but not bad enough for me to not drink the brew.

Taste: Descent brew, heavy floral...mild bitterness. Light raw hops with a slight citrus sweetness to the brew.

Mouth: Medium carbonation with a tangy finish. Dry and bitter feel at the end.

Overall: Good brew, nice to start the night off with, if you like ipas for whatever reason this might be the smoother one you might be looking for. Salud.

This is just the most delicious beer I've ever tasted. I created an account just to state this.

Look - Hazy gold
Smell - Floral, citrusy
Taste - Very rich and well balanced. There are so many flavors here I can't even describe them. Somehow both sweet and bitter at the same time. My only criticism is that it's just a little bit heavy, so I wouldn't have a ton of them at once. It's unusually deep even for a hazy ipa.
Feel - I'm new to this so I'm not quite sure how to describe it. I guess the level of carbonation is nice.

Overall - I see this out any time I can find it. I just can't find a comparably delicious beer.

Decanted from a 16 oz (473 ml) can into a snifter glass; canned 03/17/21 (St. Patrick's Day!).
A: Pours a very hazy, dark golden (think tarnished brass) color with a one to two finger, lemon chiffon head, solid retention and decent, but limited rings of lacing.
S: Strong lemon fruit aromas with a touch of grapefruit and pine.
T: More semidry and semisweet. Lemon citrus, grapefruit, and light pine. A barley note on the back end. Bitterness relatively light and subtle, leaving a very clean finish.
M: Light to medium bodied with solid effervescence on swirl.
O: I liked this a lot. Really a delicious, light, lemon chiffon American IPA. Will drink well in the Summer.
