Was our go to while in Thailand as there was not much else. Was a good value but did come with a vicious "Changover"

Really Beeradvocate? You are forcing me to write a review of this beer just to rate it? Here goes:

I am at my hotel in Bangkok. This is crappy Thai beer. It's 6%, so it's doing the job a little better than the 5% piss available. Don't expect anything spectacular. Tastes like singha, tiger, San miguel, asahi, or any other asian piss!

Bottle poured into tumbler

A: light straw gold with very little head which dissipates quickly.
S: grains on the sweet side. not bad.
T: reminded me of a japanese beer at first, but then has a tiny bit of spice to it. it's not good.
M: just carbonated enough. kinda watery.
D: closer to alcohol water. pretty awful really.

Not worth trying. I will never drink it again.

The lable boasts winning the 2008 Gold Award for the Monde Selection. hmmm?

The pour brings a standard 'premium' appearance of medium straw color, fair head formation of white foam, light on lacing and retention. Looks like any other domestic beer, really.

Smells like it too. A crisp pilsner aroma seems to be part from grain husk, part from actual malt. Light floral hops help but I wanted more hop aroma.

Flavor are much the same- part malt and part grain. Crisp and bready, the beer seems fresh with no signs of oxidation or staling. Hop flavor is nice but timid. Bitterness balances the beer but does little else. Sulfur flavors and mineral taste hurt the finish as the alcohols take on an acetone flavor.

Body is light but crisp. If the balance of the beer tilted a bit more toward the malt and away from the grain, the beer might compare favorable to Bitburger and Warsteiner. The harsh elements in the finish have the last impression on the beer and keeps it from better drinkability.

This is basically the beer I expected from Thailand. Simple, light, and quite banal. It's not good beer, it's not bad beer, it's just beer. Kinda like Budweizer, Coors, or High Life.

Bottle 330 ml, bought at an Asian goods supermarket in the Netherlands. .

Pale golden yellow colour. Half finger of head that disappears straight away. Seems very carbonated. Lots of activity in the glass.
Nothing special on the smell, just some malts and hay.
Taste is quite sweet, very malty. Your average lager taste.
Thin on the body and very very carbonated. Dry on the palate.
Overall nothing too special, but easily drinkable. Would be even better with less carboantion.

Pale straw yellow apperance with thin white head that quickly disappears leaving some head. Smell consists of grain with some corn and honey. Hard to pick up though.

Taste consists is similar to the smell, grainy corn taste with a hint of honey, fruit and some malt. Taste is very light overall. Light bodied with low carbonation. Aftertaste is very dry with a lingering honey taste.

Not the most flavorfull beer around, would be good to swig on if your eating spicy food. Otherwise, only worth it to try a beer from Thailand.

Used to be 6.4%, but it seems dumbed down now to 5.0%, and I hope it wouldn't taste so thick and sugary as before?
The BB date is 13 Jul. 06.

Very pale straw hued, with a short-lived white beer head and a moderately carbonated body. The nose is pretty modest, if anything, with some malts and corn-like grainy smell, very faint trace of lemony hops. The palate is the same, sharply gassy upfront, then thin-bodied flavour of some sweet grains and sugars, but turning more and more watery as it goes... almost like a lemonade without the lemony edge!!! Finished with less sugary touch than its previous version (6.4%) but still a bit sticky on the palate. Overall, it has all the cheap and overly light texture I haven't confronted for a long long time, and even its predecessor tastes better than this one. One of the worst beers I've had, and not as a result of mis-handling or any "excusable" factors I believe. Not recommended at all.

Pale, clear gold. Lifeless, no head at all really. Carbonation visible in streams in the center of the glass.

Cooked vegetable aroma. Stale papery malt. Musty wet dog...blechh. I swear i'm not making this up. Who in their right mind would enjoy drinking this?

Dull and chalky feel, dry paper, grape. Aftertaste is more like pear once the cardboard goes away. Prickly carbonation, gassy feel. Not really doin' it for me. Seems like something you should be able to drink in quantity, but it was hard to get down half a pint.

Hey, it has a cool bottlecap!

I almost shunned this beer b/c of my Indian beer experience. I'm not a lager guy, and especially not a S. Asian lager guy. But this one wasn't so bad. A clean, very light golden pour with a billowy head. Not bad, but the retention is. Very thin lacing if any at all.
A slightly skunked smell along with some faint, stale malt. Not pleasant, but I've smelled worse. Taste is suprisingly less skunked and matly. Very light. Some hops comes into play with some faint spice and crispness. As it warms, it becomes a bit stale. Still not bad enough for me to pour out. Not bad...drink cold!

I tried this beer one night eating out at a Thai restaurant. The waiter insisted that I try it. The color was a dark yellow color with a thin head. The smell was kind of skunky with a normal domestic smell mixed in. As for the taste, it's what I was expecting from an Asian beer, dry and bitter.

I had it at a Thai restaurant, straight from the bottle. Obviously it was difficult to smell but slightly sweet and a hint of nondescript hops. Some hop flavor and balanced. Light mouthfeel. The food was the focus and the beer complimented it. I wouldn't get it again.
