Notes: Imperial Pastry Stout with cocoa powder, vanilla, lactose and dozens of double chocolate chocolate chip Muffins from Lake City Bakers. Our beer only uses the finest ingredients, so we added just the exquisite Muffin Tops from dozens of muffins to the boil.

Look for a rich full bodied creamy pastry stout that serves up layers of decadent chocolate from the muffin tops!

Perfect after dinner sipper.

Pours black. Thick and viscous looking. Motor oil pour. No head formation.

Nose is smoky malt, sweetness, vanilla, dark, rich chocolate.

Taste follows the nose closely. Smokiness from the malt, which then makes way for the chocolate and the mild hint of vanilla.

The mouthfeel is amazing. Full bodied with very slight carbonation. Smooth and creamy, but not sticky or heavy. It almost has a fluffy quality to it. It doesn't hang on your pallete. It finishes pretty cleanly. A sip never overstays it's welcome. The lactose does a great job here.

This is certainly an enjoyable brew. For an 11% the booze is well hidden. The brew has its own personality, but doesn't overdo it. It's not sickeningly sweet or cloying. It states it business and stays within a reasonable parameter. And the mouthfeel is perfect for this style. Well done.

Appearance is very dark brown with a minimal dark tan head that has little retention and zero lacing. Aroma is subdued with chocolate predominant. Taste is less sweet than expected, with chocolate up front, some vanilla, dark roasted malt, and a slightly bitter finish. Mouthfeel is smooth as silk and slightly coating.
