This beer has the distinction of being the least objectionable beer I've ever tried. There is absolutely nothing wrong with it, and its flavours are so neutral that no one could possibly dislike it. However, it is fairly forgettable. Give it to your macrobeer-drinking friends, because it is easy to drink and might be a good entry-level beer.

NOTE
This is a food beer. It is not a beer for sipping on a hot afternoon although you could because it is great tasting and well made beer. It is a beer that pairs with food because it was made for food. It was made to fill the void of beer’s independence to food and act like a refined wine … out of the beer bottle. Try it with something gourmet and experience beer like never before, or drink it by itself and miss the point of it, but it still is an exceptional beer.

LOOK
Pours out hazy yellow and has a slightly greenish edge; apricot is the color when you look straight down the top of the glass. The head reduces quickly and becomes a thin cover and eventually fades to a halo that really never ceases to exist.

SMELL
Spices on the nose fade to citrus. Starts out cinnamon and/or coriander, there are hints of pepper and licorice or anise, on the beer scale wheat is present like a hefeweizen, yeast is clearly present in the nose, the fade to citrus is orange and lemon. The nose is unique, but not overwhelming.

TASTE
The beer is balanced between malt on the sweet side and the hops lingering in the background. In the middle are the spices and the citrus pairs up with the hops to bring the beer around. The taste is soft and creamy and does not overpower the palette, it coats, clears the palette, but does not wash it clean. The taste is consistent from start to finish and holds up well while the temperature climbs in the glass.

FEEL
This beer has some substance, but is not overly thick, it is thick enough to be creamy and smooth, lighter in weight, but does not have an overwhelming carbonation factor. The carbonation does hold well, but reduces as the glass empties resulting in a less fizz feel as the beer glass empties; you can avoid this by topping off the glass at about 2/3 consumed.

OVERALL
Knowing when and how to drink a beer makes all the difference and I hope this review helps members to experience a very unique and incredible product. I rated it a 5 because it is a soft beer by itself and with food it is an animal. To be clear on what that means, the beer is made for food so it enhances the food being consumed and is not as filling as you would expect - this is the phenomenon. This beer is unique and holds the niche on where food is paired with beer and enhanced by the flavor, weight, and refined quality of this spectacular product. I am a wine and beer lover so when beer lovers come to dinner, we share this beer with them as they would have no appreciation for the wines we would serve. More than a dozen serious beer drinkers have left our dinner table blown away by this beer commenting particularly they had never experienced a beer that paired so well with food. It is a great culinary feature to make an evening pop!

Pours yellow with a greenish hue. Very mild white foam head with no retention. Smell is spicy and citric, very nice. Taste is fresh, spicy and citric, licorice adds a little bit of bitterness from the sweetness but it´s well balanced. Overall a spanish interpretation of the witbier, interesting and cheap, nice to try.

pours pale hazy yellow, thin head that reduces quickly to a thin film, a little lacing
smells, crisp, bright, lemony, yeasty, coriander, powdered sugar
taste, follows the nose, light, lemony, a little spicy (coriander and pepper) and wheaty, a little like those cheap lemon cookies with the powdered sugar
feel, a little crisp and sharp from the spice, but a bit watery
overall this is actually a nice refreshing little pop for a summer afternoon. just a little too light and sweet for me

Large bottle split 3-ways.
Pours with a cloudy, apricot colored body and a decent head that leaves spotty lacing.
Fruity and yeasty aroma that would lead me to guess a Belgian origin.
The flavor largely follows. Moderate complexity.

O: as claimed, drinks like a cross between a light lager and a wheat beer.

The beer pours out into a Duvel glass a lightly hazed pale yellow color with a 1/4" ragged white head that recedes fairly soon leaving spotty lacing. Sipping leaves lots of small speckles of lacing. The ring around the glass and a very thin island of foam remain much longer.

The subtle aroma is full of coriander along with some wheat and orange zest.

The flavors show off a touch of malt sweetness along with the coriander and a bit of wheat. The herbal bitter hops are almost entirely hidden in the background

Mouthfeel is light and crisp and the light soft carbonation is refreshing. The finish is medium length and ends dry in a slight herbal bitterness.

Overall, an interesting beer with light clean flavors that should go well with food. Also this would be a a nice beer for a hot summer day. If you buy this expecting the full flavors of a Belgian wit you'll be disappointed, but this is a pleasant interpretation with many of the same flavors, but not as intense.
