Full Boar Scotch Ale is deeply malted and caramel apparent with overtones of chocolate and a slight hint of a mild, smoky flavor.
Our Full Boar Scotch Ale’s proprietary malt blend, lightly smoked with peat moss, imparts subtle hints of chocolate, caramel and smoke in a beer that drinks astonishingly smoothly.
First-Class chefs pair this Wee Heavy style ale with the finest cuts of meat, yet it has been infused into everything from artisanal cheeses to ice cream.

"... lightly smoked with peat moss..." - thus, "Wee Heavy"-style

Clear brown colored ale with very little head formation.
Smells sweet and malty with lots of molasses scent to it. Fainter scent of smoke. Smells faintly medicinal. Not that aromatic an ale though.
Starts out malty and sweet. Mildly smoky but this one tends to the sweet side. Mildly bitter. Alcohol completely hidden. Mildly warming in the chest. Not real complex though just a basic Scotch Ale.
Mouthfeel is OK.
Overall just a basic Scottish ale.

It's not Duck Rabbit or Scotty Katate but, I don't run into Scotch Ales on tap often. International terminal in SFO. Has all the qualities of the Scotch Ale but like many other reviews, it's just more drinkable than life changing. Still give it ago if you see it.

Brown ale like with nice liquor finish. At atoms on golden gate!

This is not a good beer, especially for its style

From an undated bomber. Pours a dark, nearly opaque brown with a finger of head. Has a sweet toasted malt smell. Light feel with very little carbonation. Chocolate and nut flavors with a sweet finish. Very drinkable, but not my favorite example of the style.
