A - Essentially opaque, with just a touch of transparency around the edges, black with brown highlights, light tan head, small bubble lacing in thin lines across the glass.
S - The nose is full of roasted coffee notes, with chocolate highlights, and roasted malts presenting molasses and toast below.
T - Open is acidic coffee open, roasted smokiness, with a middle that offers bread and bitter chocolate, and sharp prickly acidity over smoke umami in the finish.
M - Prickly carbonation couples with tangible acidity to scrub the tongue, limiting the coating aspect and keeping the close clean, but also taxing over time, making this one to drink in rotation with other brews.
O - A superb stout, very satisfying, with great chocolate and coffee flavors that pop. The feel is solid, and I enjoy the combination of the slick coat and sharp carbonation - it definitely works. Will get again.

This beer pours pitch black with a 2 finger tan head. The head retention is average and there's some lacing on the glass.
The nose is quite rich with coffee aromas - well according to the label, espresso. I don't really drink coffee, and don't know the difference. The nose is quite pleasing.
Taste - is mellow for a fraction of a second, then the espresso kicks in - HARD. Rich, deep, powerful are good words for the flavor.
Body is fairly light, and, in a way, a bit watery. A lot less body than the flavor and nose would suggest.
A very good beer, but just a bit light bodied is my only gripe.

Had in a 4 oz at the brewery. The beer was black with a brown head and had a burnt black coffee aroma rich with coffee beans. The taste was really good with black coffee mixed with espresso. Creamy, really good. Overall, awesome coffee flavors.
