Released June 2021; drank 7/10/21 @ Hannah & Kenser's.

Nice mouthfeel (thanks Shaun!) but the 27 months in the barrel were a waste, since they pumped this full of sweet adjuncts. Good, not great. Wish they had left well enough alone.

5oz draft pour at More brewery in Huntley.

Old musty mature bourbon barrel notes with all adjuncts accounted for, adjuncts all tasting authentic/nothing artificial tasting here, & balanced well. Not as thick or silky as I would expect from these two breweries. Slightly hot booze and thinner texture than expected.

Had on tap and was completely blown away! Foreboding shimmering jet black body with a light brown cap and spotted lazy lacing. Great expressive darker oak, huge bourbon without being hot, molasses, brown sugar, coffee, coconut, vanillins, semi-sweet chocolate, hints of cinnamon and light earth. Tastes as it smells, hints of char in the background are the only addition, super complex and delicious, layers are lush and meld into each other perfectly. It's like bourbon county but with more barrel character and molasses. Feel is warm, smooth, oak and booze lay great foundation for all of the other elements, a sipper but wonderfully balanced. This is not only one of the best stouts I have ever had, it is one of the best beers I have ever had, bravo!

Had this on tap at More. This one was excellent. The aroma was a lot of barrel, some coffee and chocolate. Lots of chocolate early in the taste then comes the coffee and then the barrel. Funny thing is I did not get a bunch of coconut until a little hint at the end. All of the flavors are great and though they are very present one does not overwhelm the others. Very nicely blended and balanced. More does know what they're doing with the BA stuff!
