Notes: Back Channel Brewing is a collective of highly-motivated individuals who take pride in the necessary measures to produce beer that is second to none. We are a destination taproom on the shores of Lake Minnetonka, producing small-batch beers that go hand-in-hand with each season. As with the nature of our surroundings, nothing is off limits, and our progressive mindset will always lead the way forward.

I asked for a sample of a beer available in a crowler and was given about 1 oz that I could barely taste. Needless to say, I passed on the IPA crowler that cost $12 for 32 oz. Beer prices for bottles ($25 of non-BA stout?) and crowlers are among the highest in Minnesota while quality is good but not great.

A nicely remodeled building turned brewpub. It overlooks a channel that leads to Lk Minnetonka, I was told also that a pull up boat access dock is being built. The inside is clean and modern with a garage door and windows facing the water outdoor seating is l shaped all facing the water it very nice. Brews were good to very good nothing blew my mind, Had the cream Ale twas good and had 2IPA also very good. Its a long drive from the cities it is however scenic if you take Shoreline drive. Worth a stop for sure, I would go back again especially in the summer months.

An unused building for almost a decade. Previously a dental office and before that a restaurant. Redone inside and out and has a modern and clean look with dark colors, granite and weathered woods. Not a big taproom by the latest standards. I think I saw 125 as maximum occupancy. In winter with 125 people inside, it might get very cozy with your neighbor. Garage doors on the south side open up to the deck and view of boat lifts and reeds. Has a nice deck that must be feeding grounds for mosquitoes in summer. No shortage of parking. The layout ticks off most of my ideals for a taproom. Large bar with plenty of seating. A designated station for people to come up and get beer or pay their tab. Not ideal but people can view and feel the swag but customers have to request the server want they want to buy instead of allowing customers to just grab what they want and then pay for it. Is theft of merchandise a real concern for taprooms? Might visit was just a few weeks from opening but the beer was good right from the start. A nice light lager for non craft beer drinkers all the way to double IPAs to stouts. Will have 16 beers on eventually. Everyone working their is friendly with the servers being professionals. Nobody seems to have this be their first go around. Nice restrooms but the fixtures seem too delicate for a taproom. But no paper towels just air blowers to dry the hands.

Seems like this place could get really loud as it fills up. Some sound deadening could be used.

Edit: I have come to find out that merchandise theft is indeed a problem at taprooms from asking questions at other places.
